Yes, base is dry just washing cold. I did get the cover off the module but wasn’t sure what resistance readings I should get on the two, thick red wires. Tried to lift out the module but it seems stuck at the back end, didn’t want to force it.

A Liebherr would be vastly superior to anything made by Vestel, even if it had ten compressors. 😉

THESE are the generic fault codes for your Indesit made appliance.

Several different motors fitted to these machines. Some tachos do have some sort of cover over them but not all.

That sounds like the motor brushes, one each side of motor. The tachometer is on the end of the motor, opposite the pulley end. You could try tightening all the wiring contacts in the motor wiring harness plug. They are very cheap and flimsy.

The main module in on the left down at the bottom.

Motor speed control is faulty. Could be poor motor wiring connections, faulty motor tachometer, faulty control module, possibly something was disturbed or got wet when you removed the heater.

Doesn’t sound like a reset problem as the drain pump won’t run until it is reset. Any error codes showing if you leave it on a while?

Could be faulty pressure switch or even main pcb. 🙁

Well did you go Martin? I was there to see Man U’s second team give the Royals a football lesson. TBH United were profligate, could and should have hit double figures given their chances.

Check heater insulation, very common cause of this fault.

Re: Hotpoint WMA35 – Killing motors

Yes, the FHP and CESET motors are much better. The Bosch motors are notorious for taking out the pcb, something I can’t say I have encountered with the other motors TBH.

If ever I get a Bosch motor with brushes down on a WMA I always have a quick look at the pcb before changing the brushes.
