ModeratorRe: bendix tm310 condenser dryer
I couldn’t find it the first time because it is a Tricity Bendix 🙂 quick edit of title. 😉
You are correct, no sign of a relay in the components list. 😕 Not come across this fault myself.
Jim.
PS. The Zanussi experts will know better than me but looking at the wiring diagram it could be the timer itself that is faulty, better wait until someone who knows for sure comes along.

Does it have a start relay tedd? It sounds very much like similar faults on Hotpoint/Hoover/Candy dryers with a start relay.
Have you got the PNC number, I cannot locate a TM310 on TDS?

ModeratorRe: hotpoint SD98P oven
Thanks Brian, any idea who actually makes these? It has a very pretty display panel with little fan symbol going round, scrolling text window and a neat bar graph for the oven temps. It looks very nice but once again I think it is a case of ‘fur coat and no knickers’ 😆
Jim.
PS. Just checked, grill element is also 2.7 kw. I hope the havn’t got it plugged in a 13 amp socket. 😯

WOW, the one and only Vance Miller has got wind of our comments and posted a reply. http://tinyurl.com/y7b65m
Knowing his past and the occasional unexplained fire, I will be watching my back very carefully for a while.
One of my squash playing partners is a member of the local constabulary. He told me that when the Maple Mill was raided a few weeks back they found one full floor of the mill stocked with several hundred small, illegal unsafe motor bikes, from China no doubt. They were supposed to be impounded and destroyed but they mysteriously disappeared overnight. 😥

ModeratorRe: Hotpoint WD860… no end of trouble
It could be a broken wire or a faulty dryer element, fan or TOC, the dryer assembly on this machine is all Indesit unfortunately. Remove the mains plug and the top. You may be able to see any broken/loose wiring. After that you will need an electrical test meter to check the elements etc. If you do not have such a thing or the expertise to use it, try the link below to see if we have someone who can help.
Worth mentioning that the whole dryer assembly was completely modified on these machines after date code 39 ( the first two numbers of the serial number on the door)Remember that you do have a five year parts warranty, don’t chuck it out before then, you ain’t going to buy a new machine for the £90.00 labour charge it will cost if you do get Hotpoint out.

Neons 2 + 4 suggest a drain out or pressure switch problem. The noise may have been something stuck in the pump. When the machine is empty, prise off the plastic ‘kickstrip’ along the bottom, front edge. Behind there you should find the pump filter. Place a couple of towels on the floor, unscrew filter cover and remove, then examine inside for any signs of obstruction.

Cheers Dave, have entered his details into repairs@ just in case he does not manage to sort it. Used to do his old machine but he has just moved a bit to far away.

thinking i’ll just get a new one. possibly Zanussi Zwf1221w 1200 Spin Washing Machine. for £214 incl delivery.
am i being foolish?
Quite possibly, you could just need new brushes, costing well under £100.00 inc labour from a decent local chappie. If the rest of the machine is sound it will more than likely last longer than a lower priced Italian machine that will almost certainly have a completely sealed drum. That means that any fault on the inner/outer drum, bearings or even a sock or coin that cannot be retrieved will need a complete drum replacement to repair. Costing more than you actually paid for the machine. I scrapped an 18 month old Italian machine two weeks ago due to the ‘sealed drum’ curse.

Correct part appears to be C000853483 Pilot lamp lense. If you send an e-mail to spares@ukwhitedgoods.co.uk with all the information we should be able to source one for you.

It appears to have exactly the same float chamber as a TDC30. 😕
