The fill control systems are the first point of call on these machines.

Sarcasm does not become you Greg, it is something that is best left to the more venerable members of the forum. 😀

Re: Hotpoint WD860… no end of trouble

I refer you back to my original post. If you have not had the modification done on your machine and it was made before date code 40 then you will continue to have this problem until you have the modified dryer box kit fitted.

The TOC is part number 1605160, an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one but in view of what I have just said it will not carry any guarantee.

Other causes of TOC failure are faulty, sticking fans, blocked heater box, switching the machine off in mid cycle whilst hot etc.

The above modification does stop constant TOC failure. The Heater box is part No: 1605320 around £45.00 + vat. Not an easy DIY fix.

    Re: hotpoint SD98P oven

I am going back next week to this one, customer has now confirmed after questioning that the grill does not work. I did a quick visual on the grill element whilst being blasted with hot air last week. It had no visual signs of failure. The fan oven works all the time and appears to be working on this machine.

Will let you know what I find.

Your right Greg, pity, this is the one I wanted to post two weeks ago. Think I will leave it for one day at least. My luck cannot get any worse so I will take my decorations down a couple of days late. 😀

If it has completed the wash perfectly then don’t worry. All machines rinse in cold water so the clothes will always feel cold at the end of the cycle.

If the machine has two hoses at the back then it is hot & cold fill. Only the hottest washes will use hot water, the others will be mixed or cold only.

Have I been a bit harsh here, after a hard week I felt like being really rude but managed to resist the temptation.

Re: Hotpoint WM65 going through timers

With the greatest of respect I would suggest that you let someone with the correct experience have a look at this machine.

    1. There is no thermostat in this machine.

    2. There is no need to ‘plug the heater into a socket’ to test it. 😥

    3. Not running the hot washes could have just been a faulty valve.

    4. These control units are in the main fairly reliable. I have fitted hundreds and never had one fail under 12 month g/tee.

    5. Manually advancing the timer with the machine switched on, can send the programmes out of sequence and could under certain circumstances damage the unit.

Re: Hotpoint Tdc30 – can’t get full heat

If the green spot stat is open circuit then your dryer should not heat at all. That is the safety TOC that cuts out and does not reset under overheating conditions. These can be due to blocked condensor or filter, opening the door mid cycle etc.

The stats come as a pair, part number 1701583, available from the shop. We do not advise live testing, there is no need whatsoever.

    Part here. http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/product_ … ucts_id=78

    Re: Hotpoint Tumble Dryer

Sounds like the customer is getting their stats & relays mixed up. Two different stat kits depending on serial number, both around £19 + vat list price.

Ser No: Before 51130.000 part is a 1703607
    After 51130.0001 part is a 1703608

Still not working for me, instead of it just showing the box with a red cross, I get an instant ‘web page cannot be displayed’ error message.
Even if I try to delete my current avatar it still goes to the same error page.

Rather ironic that he posts on the very same day that our local newspaper carries an article quoting the January edition of Which magazine. It is warning the general public to have no dealings whatsoever with Mr Miller and friends. 😥
