That is highly unethical and not a practise I would advise for anyone who purports to work to a high standard. :rolls: how would you explain it if the local trading standards had a peek?

There used to be a local ‘native American opponent’ who used to do something similar to that and worse. If a customer refused his work or estimate, he would swap wires on the module etc. One customer actually walked in on him forcing his screwdriver through the door seal because she had said his price was to high.

If ever I got a call to a machine and was informed that T*S had been to it the first thing I did was check all over for his booby traps.

He went out of business more than 15 years ago, married a nurse and set up an old peoples home. 😥 Didn’t last long there but I dread to think of what it was like when he was in charge.

I could see the contacts opening and closing as I turned it.

Unfortunately the board is snuff dry, 😥 I would expect to see some lights on if it was just moisture on the board.

The ones based on the Hotpoint WMA do, not sure about the Indesit clones but I think they do as well.

Don’t be silly. 😉 They will not supply you with free parts, unfortunately you are not qualified to diagnose the fault in their eyes and you have already compromised your five year parts warranty by removing the parts.

Best advice is to put it back very carefully, phone them, say nothing and pay the labour charge. Much cheaper than making a wrong diagnosis.

As I said, prohibitive, or down right bloody ridiculous, such a shame on a still decent machine. A possible ISE candidate methinks. 😉

No CTD30 listed on Partfinder. CTD00, CTD40, CTD80/5 only. TDC30 models are a bit older than 15 months. I think there is a modified ( thicker ) rear seal for these. Also think it advises fitting a couple of washers between drum and back of cabinet. The cabinet is easily pushed out of shape, you can sometimes squeeze it back square to stop this fault as well.

    Re: zanussi zsf6160 not heating

There is a strong possibility that part of the main control module has burnt out. Whilst it is known for people to repair this damage with a spot of solder it is considered an unsafe practice and has led to a fire in the facia on some Zanussi machines.

If you do investigate further ( with the plug out of course 😉 ) and need any further information then if you could give us the Product number from the rating plate that would help.

Almost certainly the relay, there is a chance it was going faulty before you called leading to the stat failure in the first place.
