For those of us who are either, old, tired, drunk, stupid, even all four of of those like me, or just couldn’t give a f**k, I take it SEO means, search engine optimisation. :rolls:

Did you switch the Advice & Help over, it looks the same as the one I looked at earlier for a punter in this thread, http://tinyurl.com/y6t83h . Or are we talking about the new supa dupa, new look forum ❓

    Re: Hotpoint washer/dryer WD440P

Glad you sorted it and thanks for letting us know the outcome. When my daughter lived at home I used an old pillow case with a couple of safety pins and placed all her underwired bras in that. The wash labels on these bras all say ‘hand wash’ but how many people take notice of wash labels. 😥

Coins and bra wires are the most common cause of pump blockages, followed by small socks, underwear etc. All avoidable with careful loading, a washbag for small items and the trusty old pillowcase.

Steady on there, tell us which neons are flashing, by number from the left. If there is an error, none of the neons should be ON, they should be flashing.

Where did you get your information from, blocked pump is neons, 4+5 ( Fast 40° + Prewash)…3+5 (Eco + Prewash) is a blocked filters fault. Also there is no fault code that uses 1+5 ( Int 65°+ Prewash)

Is that right at the back, all the pipes I could see were clear, couldn’t pull it right out due to dodgy installation. It will be removed in time for my next visit.

    Re: Philips,Whirpool ADP279

Went to this early today. All wiring and for that matter everything else looks perfect, it doesn’t look to have had much use, however it has been stood for well over 12 months. I did notice that customer was using Finish 4+1 tabs, and it had a half full rinse aid dispenser set on 6 ( Max). 😥

She also said that even though she has filled the salt container the salt warning light will not go out. whatever I did by removing door and poking around, when I came to try it the salt light had gone out. It has apparently completed its cycle without any problems on odd occasion.

I set it to rinse, it drained, then started to fill. It stopped filling but didn’t appear to have enough water in it. Then it drained again for a few seconds, then started to fill again. It then went into drain for about 30 seconds before the progress indicator/timer started to click along. It went right to the end and after flicking back, started to repeat the process. Tried a few different programmes with the same result 😕

Visual inspection of the base reveals no obvious faults, bone dry and clean as a whistle.

    Re: AEG 72620 Drum support

I have some old Hotpoint 1850 type machines, well over 25 years old on my plot. All with perfectly sound, original backplate and drum support. The one thing they all have in common is that they are owned by older people who do HOT washes with powder, they don’t like these ‘new fangled liquids’ And this is in an area that has ultra soft water. I change between 2 & 4 Hotpoint WM drum supports each week, all using 40° or less washes, or leaving the economy button/time saver selected. well over 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of these are using liquids or Eco friendly detergents. Therefore it must be down to low temp usage and detergent type.

I assume you are already going to use any that are already in the gallery or on the boards, such as the lamb fat blockage and the Hotpoint dryer covered in fluff I posted.

    Re: Pictures From The Hedge

I had one today that I would have liked to have photographed, a Hotpoint WM in shall we say, a ‘veiled’ household. The whole of the top of the soap dispenser, concrete weight and any other flat surface was covered in mouse droppings. 😯 😥
