Had loads of them in past few days, constant time outs as well, gave up trying to edit a post last night after trying for half an hour. 😥

Sometimes the pages load in a flash, then minutes later it chokes completely.

Not good news I’m afraid, suggests an eeprom set up error. The Indesit made electronics may have thrown a wobbler. The Hotpoint/Indesit engineers may be able to re programme the eeprom but the software they use is not available to the independent trade. The only other alternative is to change the module and eeprom, not a viable propostion to do yourself when you are still under the manufacturers 5 year parts warranty.

Re: Hotpoint CTD00 Condenser Tumble, tripping my power point

The only way to find the cause is to check with the correct electrical test equipment.

I have seen one or two with the elements down to earth. One cause of this is failing to keep the condensor clean, this leads to moisture build up on the elements. If your condensor is badly blocked the best way to clean it is with a hose pipe or pressure washer, after you have removed it from the machine of course.

Please remove the plug if you intend to investigate or, click the link in my sig to see if we have someone in your area who can help.

I had a gel & material shoe insole stuck on the heating element at the bottom, was reasonably melted when I fished it out! followed your tip about removing the plastic lifter and recovered the insole.

How did they get in there? Although it was possible to wash trainers etc in the old style, one piece stainless steel drum, it is a definate ‘must not do’ in any modern machine with plastic drum lifters.

The most recent report on this company was on Watchdog only two weeks ago. Hundreds of unresolved complaints. I live locally and the local press are always reporting problems with Mr Miller. On the last Watchdog programme, Vance Miller even agreed that he should be sent back to prison. 😥

    Re: Philips,Whirpool ADP279

Just been back to this beast this morning, managed to get it out.

All internal pipework is clear. The small pressure switch attached to the circulation pump on the left has two double sets of wires attached to terminals 1 & 2. This side of the switch is NC, no matter how hard I blow ( or suck ) I cannot get it to trip. I notice it was described above as a ‘high pressure’ switch. Should I be able to get it to trip or does it require extreme pressure, should it normally be NC ?

the strange thing is the customer says she can eventually get the machine to work by pressing various random combinations of the buttons, this usually needs 4 or 5 attempts, then it seems to function OK. I couldn’t get it to start though. 😥

Heater (there is only one) is designed to be removed, but not to be refitted, although you can do it with some difficulty. Before you resort to that you could try to remove one of the blue plastic drum lifters inside the drum. More often than not you can remove the obstruction from there. There is always an outside chance that the bra wire has gone behind the drum, if that is the case then a complete removal and spiltting of the outer drum is the only way to get at it.

Your machine should have the Mk 3 lifters. I will check on the removal method and get back to you as it differs from one type to another.

    Jim.

NB. Put all underwired bras in on old pillowcase and secure with a couple of safety pins, or follow the washing instructions on almost all underwired bras, ‘Hand wash only’ 😉

EDIT. You need a thin terminal screwdriver, locate the third hole in, along the top edge of one of the lifters and push down with the screwdriver. You should then be able to pull the blue lifter towards the front of the drum and remove it. If you are lucky you will be able to locate and remove any obstructions. Before you refit the lifter, look into the drum and you will see a small tab in the drum that you have pushed flat, raise that back up about 3mm before you push the lifter back into place. If you have done this correctly you should hear a click as it locks back into place.

    Re: indesit door interlock

The two types are IDC and none IDC. The IDC machines have very thin wiring and plug connections for some components.

    IDC door lock is 085194

Non IDC is 059539 these are earlier machines.

There is no WDG1095WGUK listed. WDG1095WG is shown as using O11140 interlock, no alternative listed ❓

Sounds like a faulty relay, part you require is a 1701157, an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods,co.uk should do the trick, plug out and watch those sharp edges.

Re: Recommended washer dryer for under £350

£350 will get you a reliable washing machine, just……….You will not get a ‘reliable’ washer/dryer unless you venture into mid to high Bosch/Seimens range, and even they have their limitations as do all washer/dryers.
