I know I am being dozy but how do you check if someone is a trade member?

Has this person got trade access, Chris has stepped in to try and keep the OP safe. Not sure we should allow touting for repairs on the public forums though.

Or the drum support, so many possible causes, most of them are not the type of job that I would class as easy without the required tools and experience. 😉

I would strongly advise some form of e-mail screening software, as I mentioned earlier, I use Mailwasher. You can check all the e-mails on your ISP server before they get anywhere near your PC. Well worth paying for the Pro version.

    Re: Ariston A1636 Leaks

It is possible on these machines for items such as ‘ colour catchers’ or small handkerchiefs etc, to get into the sump. They can block the pressure chamber part of the sump whilst still allowing the machine to drain. This is why the machine can go into spin whilst it still has water in it.

It can also cause overfilling which could cause leaks on the ‘fast speed’ wash action.

    Re: Ariston A1636 Leaks

This is a Hotpoint based machine with Indesit electronics in it. The most likely cause of this fault is a blockage in the sump hose under the drum leading to the pump.

Please remove the plug if you intend to have a look, or try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.

    Jim.

NB. Cheap powder would not in itself cause leaks, but using a good quality detergent such as Ariel is to be strongly recommended.

I’m sure the respect is mutual, tdubya would no doubt admire the fact that most of us would have to do that job plus five or six other calls in a normal days work.

well done all the same. 😉

Well I actually managed to fix the pile of plastic poo. 😥

Lid micro switch acutating arm adrift.

Why would any sane person buy one of these? Four pairs of socks would overload it, the drying cycle ( ha ha ) is just a single direction wash speed action that runs for 115 minutes :rolls: . you would still be able to wring them out by hand afterwards. A complete waste of time, nothing a large block of green Fairy and some ‘elbow grease’ couldn’t match in a fraction of the time. 🙂

180° opposite prog D is prog M on this machine.

Start/Cancel is achieved using the same button, no Stop/Change position on these.

    Re: Creda W200FW won’t work on “D”

All H+C fill WMA machines start with a drain out, then a short cold fill, to fill the sump then hot fill which is temp controlled to avoid getting too hot, the cold fill can be brought back in to prevent this.

W200FW after date code 42 is cold fill only.

A diagnostics check would ID a faulty valve, but according to the OP it doesn’t even drain or cold fill.

I might be able to furnish a list of the diagnostics if you don’t have them Seamy. 😉
