    Re: Masterpart web site

It must be something at your end, firewall, AV, local IP/DNS problems etc. I can access it in a split second.

You could try flushing your DNS cache, open a Command Prompt ( Start/Programs/Accessories/Command Prompt) type in

ipconfig/flushdns exactly like that without spaces and then hit Enter.

Very interesting, on another tack, I have inspected the displaced box very carefully and there seems to be a small hairline crack appearing on the top of the box as well.

I see, I’m assuming then that the turbidity sensor had an integral inlet and outlet then.

Are you sure about that, it is open at the back with no way of fitting a hose or similar.

Any idea what that bit is used for on any other models, it is obviously sealed off from the heater box, but it has a small hole at the box end and retaining clips at the large end. 😕

A bit late getting back to this, customer been on extended holiday.
Removing the inner tub as per the Hotpoint manual was a doddle, not worth the risk of water getting in places it shouldn’t by tipping it upside down.

The fault was in fact the heater box, in the picture you should be able to see the long split in the underside.

I actually used a Bosch original, see this post.

Almost half the £100 SSP of the Hotpoint one. It did differ slightly from the displaced unit. I have circled the part, top left that is missing on the Bosch replacement. It doesn’t actually fit to anything on the DF61 model, a bit like an ear lobe or an appendix, a vestigal organ. 😆

    Re: Ariston A1636 Leaks

Thanks for letting us know the outcome. The scale you mention could be building up due to using poor quality detergents and only doing low temperature washes. You should use a good quality detergent, powder or tablet, not liquid. Try to do at least one 60° wash each week and every couple of months do a ‘maintenance wash’. This is a 95° wash without clothes, using a small amount of detergent.

    Jim.
