    Re: Baumatic

I have a call tomorrow on a Baumatic washing machine, complaint of no spin. Not seen machine yet so no details. Wouldn’t normally go out to these but it is ‘for a friend’ 😥

Who makes them, are they any good etc?

    Jim.

Re: Can Hotpoint get any worse

Unfortunately I have to answer my own question with a resounding yes they can. 😥

Longstanding customer phoned me yesterday. Bought a new Hotpoint washer ( they insist on buying them because I have always repaired them 😳 )

Machine arrived last Monday, faulty on first use. Supplier exchanged for a new one which ran for two days then went with a bang, they reluctantly agreed to a service call and the Indesit Co engineer confirmed a major failure requiring parts he didn’t have. A third machine was delivered on Friday and that also failed on first use. 😥

The upshot is, the customer has demanded, and been given a refund, a shiny new ISE is going in tomorrow. 8)

Almost 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less than the Hotpoint one, worth taking a risk methinks. If not it will be on sale here in the near future. 😀

Most of them are but if you wanted to cover the whole range the costs would be severe. 😥

I was doing a WMA drum change between 12.00 & 1.00PM, took me longer than usual because they had the match on and four wickets went down in that time, I was up and down like a YoYo. 8)

Any idea of approx price Dave, not worth risking if similar to Hotpoint price, they both look the same on Partfinder as well 😉 😆

Re: Hotpoint WM76 washing machine went mad and smashed workt

It is possible that the machine had just gone into its first rinse cycle, with the current hot weather the cold inlet would not be cold enough to make the clothes feel cold on the first rinse. you would have been unable to touch them if was in the wash cycle at 60°. When you load large sheets or blankets you should lay them flat on the floor, take hold of them in the middle and lift up like a wigwam, feed this end into the drum followed by the four ‘tails’. Do not bundle them up before you load them. The out of balance control system should have prevented this but there are other causes such as loose or chafing wiring that can cause OOB. If it was still in the wash cycle then you do have a fault that will almost certainly re occur.

I would strongly advise getting someone to have a look at this to check for such possibilities.

Bold move from Strauss to open with Monty, should be an exciting days play, could go either way.
