Re: Moral problem ? or business sense ?

I was particularly sad when they closed Nottingham and we had to go to Peterborough for a dishwasher course. What a dead hole. not sure what it is like now but in those days the locals used to go to bed at 9.00PM. 😥

Sounds like you mean the NTC not the thermostat. Not sure of the exact range on this machine but it can be between 10KΏ & 20KΏ on average but this will vary a great deal depending on temperature. To be honest I think it is time to ‘get someone in’ . There are several other components involved in the heater circuits, far too many to go through safely on a public forum.

If you have the FHP motor then on rare occasions the tacho magnet on the end of the motor shaft, behind the small push in circular plate can come loose causing these symptoms.

Me too, in the old Hotpoint days, the training school for the ‘top half’ of the country was right next to the Notts County football ground.

Had many enjoyable days & nights 😉 in Nottingham.

Don’s your man for that sort of advice regarding prices etc. He usually pops in most mornings so he will no doubt answer your call then. To be perfectly honest most of the trade do not like washer/dryers, they are a compromise at best, with higher failure rates and poorer performance when compared with separate units. The one and only advantage is space saving.

Not really Alan, that timer or its replacements fit well over 30 different models.

You will just about get a reasonable washing machine on that budget, you will not get a decent washer/dryer for that money.

Well if my first answer hasn’t given you a clue then enter Indesit or Ariston in the search facility and stand well back. 😥

They all share components, mainly the controls.

Why not type WD420 or 440 into the search facility and find out 😉 http://tinyurl.com/z3mzw

Indesit electronics which are over complicated and prone to error.

Ask instead for better alternatives and Don amongst others will advise you. 🙂

Just thinking about this I have fitted the odd pressure switch to this range although not very often. I seem to remember that the replacement pressure switch was a later type that included a few wiring mods, perhaps this machine has the later switch fitted as standard.?

Unfortunately I don’t have the details of the modifications to hand. 😥

Numbers don’t match the WM31/32/35 manuals Dave.

The numbers in the Hotpoint manual for those are the usual 11.12.14-21.22.24 & 31.32.34 No #36?

Also checked the manuals for 9529/9539/9549 & 9777 they are all the earlier timer with module clipped at the rear.or side of timer, not the hybrid timer.

Re: Hotpoint WD62 Eating clothes !!!

The gap at the top, at around 11.00 o’clock is the inlet vent for the hot, dryer air. Hotpoint washer dryers have had a long history of ripping clothes, make sure you do not overload. It could also be due for a new door seal if the gap between the inner drum and seal has increased due to age and wear on the seal. These seals often tear towards the top as well.

Mains plug out at all times if you attempt any repairs.

    Re: indesit wd12s

There are two different sized drum shaft & bearings on this machine. If you do attempt a repair let the local blood transfusion unit know in advance. Paper thin metal drum and loads of sharp egdes. Not considered one of the hardest bearing changes, if you have the correct tools and the experience. 🙂 Removing the drum pulley can be difficult.

Plug out if you intend to proceed further and keep the plasters handy. 😉

With the machine unplugged and using the correct electrical test equipment and the experience to know how to use it. Otherwise try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help you.
