    Re: WIRING DIAGRAM

Hi gcb, I would still be very interested in the programmer you refer to in this thread.
    software?

What do you actually mean by programmer?

Some of the prices on there are ridiculous, and would you like to try to fit this ‘washer door seal’

    Seal?

    WTF is that.

The brushes go in the motor, wherever it is situated 😉 unplug the machine first then take the back off, all will be revealed. Sounds like the previous machine was a Hotpoint.

You will have to remove motor to effect a repair, if you do not feel confident enough to do that, click the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help.

Yes, but the Milnrow part of it is Lancashire, you can actually see the road in front of you without all that grime you get oer’t other side. 😛

    Re: World Cup 2006

What I do find amazing is that until Grimsby won tonight, all the other 11 divisional play off matches produced not a single a home win. 😯

I know its got sod all to do with World Cup 2006 but no one else seems to be bothered. 😆

PS. Lancashire scored 228 for 3 on a rain curtailed 1st day against Yorkshire at Headingley 8)

How long is it since you last tried them, the tests and demonstrations I have seen recently used cold water and the Ariel tablets dissolved very rapidly.
The only reasons I prefer them to powder are much smaller storage and more accurate dosage.

Drum not turning. Does anyone know if there is a common fault on these washers, modual, motor dodgy harnes or brushes.
Any tips would be greatfully apreciated.

    Model number???

It could be an Indesit based machine or a Hotpoint WMA clone.

Common faults are just about everything on the Indesit derivative and the only tip that really matters is the one it will be on in a very short space of time. 😥

The Indesit in Ariston garb will generate an error code when faulty, the control knob should start to click round and the mains neon will flash a set number of times then pause, then flash the same number again and so on.

These codes are not infallible but they are the best thing we have and are listed in the Known Error Codes thread.

Powder is fine but the new Ariel tablets dissolve without any problems. I use them in the dispenser drawer and being in a bungalow with a header tank in the loft do not have a very high hot water pressure. The tablet flushes in even better than powder. I say tablet because in this very soft water area, one tablet is plenty.

All separate, I have changed trim & handle on a WD420, same part numbers for hinges, you should only need the trim and handle.

EDIT. You do have to remove hinges from cabinet. 🙂

Hi Andy, I had hoped that someone with more experience than myself on Zanussi equipment would have answered your post. A fellow mod has ( quite correctly ) moved your post to the European thread, unfortunately there will be less of a chance of an answer way down there, which is why I did not move it initially.

The model you have can have several different control systems, they are fairly complex machines with a special diagnostics mode to fault find.

If no one else responds to this post your best bet is to try and find someone local to you with all the relevant technical information. The electronic controls on this appliance are quite expensive as well.

Hopefully this ‘bump’ may elicit an reply. 😉
