That question leads me to think that you may be better getting a local independent engineer to look at it. If it is just carbon brushes then it is well worth having it fixed. 😉

Can’t find it on the Electrolux info with those numbers, possibly too old.

You need to look at the motor and check it for worn carbon brushes, be sure to remove the mains plug first.

Without the full pnc number I’m not sure what type of motor this machine has but if it is a brush gear motor it could just need a new set of carbon brushes in the motor.
They did use FHP brush gear motors in several of these that I have seen over the years.

Failed bearings cause very loud noises but don’t stop it spinning unless they have become so badly worn that the belt has been thrown off. Simply removing the back panel will confirm if the belt is in place.

Difficult to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure but they do look the same on Partfinder.

PS. The list price inc vat of the white one is £163.99, not £192 and the grey one is £103.;)

In fact the grey on is a fraction over £72 at Masterpart, out of stock of course though. 🙁

Not sure what you mean by ‘it tripped whilst I was on holiday’ ??

Do you mean you came back to find the house circuit breakers had tripped and you isolated the cause as the washing machine?

Leaving any electrical appliance like this switched on when not in use is not a good idea. The door interlock on some machines is energised when the switch is on and is known to fail. Could also be the mains filter but it would just need to be plugged in for that to be the cause of the fault.

Any capacitor of the same rating will do, as I mentioned before make sure the capacitor is fitted in the correct polarity. 😉

Yep, the owner like to keep mentioning ‘hustling’ on his FB page, isn’t that a nice word for con tricks?

As you say, not always a good thing. 😉 main power pcb is in the base at the back, bottom left as you look at the back. Be sure to leave the machine unplugged for 10 minutes before you touch that pcb, 3 phase motor inverter can carry a hefty belt. :zap:

    Re: Indesit IWDE12 fault codes

Capacitor failure on main pcb. If you are handy with a soldering iron and can source the correct capacitor its an easy fix as long as you make sure the new capacitor is fitted with correct polarity.
There are three capacitors close together, usually the largest of the three will show obvious signs of failure with a ‘domed’ top.
