Re: hotpoint vtd65 not heating up

It is not that simple a fix, usually comes as a complete element kit. As soon as you remove the back you have in theory negated your 12 months g/tee, and also your five year parts g/tee. Ring Hotpoint, they can often accomodate you so that you are not waiting in all day. Also there may be an underlying reason for stat failure which the engineer will know about or check for.

Also we do not advise live testing, you should check the thermostats for continuity with the plug removed.

I am not sure about what you intend to achieve with this post. Is it a genuine request, if so I can move it to the correct forum for you. If not I will delete it.

    Re: hotpoint flashing

    Do you mean a WD420 or a WF 430/440.
    Cannot find a WF420?

Error codes are displayed by the five left hand led’s and the On/Off neon flashing.
Not seen prewash flashing. (yet) 😥

    Done for you Ted, 🙂

I think you have an AWD12SUK, this is a condensor dryer. You could have a blocked condensor, quite common on these, also a failure of the cold inlet valve to the condensor can cause this fault. Please remove the plug if you intend to investigate further or try the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help. Should not be over expensive to fix.

    Re: Hotpoint WD640 – Fault code F-03

The NTC is an electronic temperature sensing device, this machine has one for the wash and one for the drying cycle. F03 is the wash NTC.

    Re: Hotpoint WD640 – Fault code F-03

It could be a fault caused in transit if this is the first time you have used it.
F03 is supposed to indicate an NTC fault. You need to contact Hotpoint service to attend to this machine. It has Indesit electronics in it which are prone to all sorts of faults, some which don’t even match the error codes.

Qualtex D/R14 is the last large white plastic hinge that I am aware of, also Masterpart CR1910.

The best thing to do is give them a ring, try 0870 4427665 that is Hotpoint’s contact number for customer service but they are one and the same.

It sounds as though the tacho magnet coil has come loose. Remove the plug and tilt the machine backwards, the clip you have found is supposed to secure the Tacho coil into the end of the motor. It is sometimes possible to refit, although you may also need to tighten the tacho magnet that may have come loose, thus pushing the coil off.

    Re: no wainsh spin

That machine should be giving you an error message if it is faulty. One or more of the sloping bank of lights on the left of the console, together with the mains neon should flash. Are you getting any lights flashing?

I have fitted them to old, 800 spin 1850’s more than 25 years old and to 1200 spin WM models without any problems whatsoever.

All Hotpoint/Creda/ Electra/Indesit etc that have the GDA motor. Genuine armatures have become very hard to source (at a sensible price 😉 )
And have been declared obsolete by the Indesit Company for some time now.

I have one or two machines that are running fine with Qualtex ARM 20’s fitted over 15 years ago, but on those you had to fit the drive pulley yourself with the two split pins provided. It is only since Qualtex started fitting the pulley in production that this misalignment has occurred.

    Re: Qualtex ARM 20

To illustrate my point here is one I did on Friday, and before anyone asks, 10 calls. 🙂 Its better than sitting a 5 mile traffic jam.

The grooves in the Qualtex ARM 20 on the right are woefully out of line. 😥
