Went to the squash club last night for my once a week thrashing at the hands of my daughter, (I do manage to win a good proportion of my Friday/Sunday games). I bumped into an old friend for the first time in months, he runs a TV repair shop in Shaw. His first question to me was, “Do you know anything about that new washer that I saw In ERT last week”. I was only to glad to fill him in on all the details. 🙂

I think the best thing to do is start at the beginning, what is the fault that leads you to suspect the boards. Several trade members are well qualified to advise on Whirlpool machines and may be able to confirm your diagnosis or offer alternative advice.

Not sure I understand or follow all of your post 😉
Is it one machine or all of them ? Is there no reason for the modules to fail or is there a leak?
Machine would appear to be out of guarantee but still well under Hotpoint’s five year parts guarantee.
When you mention ‘transit bolts’ and ‘test bay’ does that mean that you have uplifted this machine and damaged the drum in so doing? If it is over 12 months old then surely if the transit bolts had been left in it would have been noticed by now. ❓ These modules fail for fun without any help from ‘robust’ handling.
I have never, ever uplifted a machine in over 37 years and to be honest can see no good reason to do so, and I have heard all the arguments about ” I can run it on test” etc. The only proper place to test the appliance is in the exact environment that it is being used in.
What is the exact model number and fault code?

ModeratorRe: Questions
I have just had time to have a proper read of the user manual. I have been very busy ( not complaining). I come back to something a customer asked me about that I could not answer at the time regarding Rinse Hold.
I have gone through the manual several times and the only mention I can find of Rinse Hold is on pages #10 & #16. However, I can find no mention of how to select Rinse Hold or indeed find a Rinse Hold button. Is it possible that when selecting No Spin that you are selecting Rinse Hold or will the machine just drain out without spinning.

that was actually my best guess as well.
Sorry, I borrowed the tenner of the wife. 😉

ModeratorRe: software required
I’m interested to know what the ‘programmer’ is that you refer to. The Indesit Company engineers have this software loaded on their laptops. I am not aware of any other legitimate source.

I find that badly worn plastic suspension cups that allow the top of the suspension rod to sway around are even more to blame for excessive drum movement leading to early seal failure.iadom

Thanks Chris, I assume that may be anything from loose contacts to serious component failure. 😥

we are working closley with the chemists who develop the detergent and they are currently delving into corrosion.
Kwatt and I are already advising them to a large extent and UKW has supplied various components for them to test in their labs.
Are you able to store 4 of these example for us? If so I’ll come over when you have 4 and pick them up from you. Can’t pay you, but can supply enough powder/ dish detergent to last quite a while. What you think?
Kevin
The powder would always be welcome for the washer, need to buy a dishwasher first for the other.
I have done two already this week. Will save the next 3 or 4 and make some arrangements. I assume you would also like some info on the types of detergents and general usage in each case.I have to agree with Bob on at least two points, low temp and, overdosing, particularly with liquids., but low usage is not a factor in this area. The last two machines I have just done are both well used, 6 to 8 loads a week machines.

And have you burgled Ken’s place while he’s away, that looks like his wallpaper ? :duck:
Dave.
Couldn’t possibly be Ken’s place. That is a real tenner lying there. 😆

Seen several like that round here, the water is very soft. Aldi’s own brand liquid seems very good a rotting them.
I am still changing two or three a week, can let you have the next one Kevin if Bob has tried to recycle that one. 😆

I have only ever used the 1603006 for years now. That superceded the 1600072 seal.
