More than likely, could also be faulty pump/wiring or even module according to the manual. 😥

Spoken like a true Scotsman, 😀 thanks for the info , similar price from Masterpart.

Not sure how the small claims court works, can you now claim for your costs?

All back on at 1.00am this morning, had to get out of bed to reset the alarm though. Turns out that when the water mains were replaced 5 or 6 years ago the sub contracters damaged the power cables which have been slowly burning/ corroding away.

    Re: Which washing machine??

A very simple answer, none of the machines at the ‘cheaper’ end of the market will be reliable, or long lasting. If you buy a £200 machine that lasts you 2 years, in 10 years it will have cost you £1000 for five such machines, they will also have been more prone to breakdown in this time. If you buy a good quality machine at around £350 to £400 such as a Bosch, you will more than likely get 10 to 15 years service with far less unreliability as well. One thing is for sure, the saying, “You get what you pay for” is very true when applied to modern domestic appliances.

Tricity & Zanussi are basically the same machine, both along with AEG are owned by Electrolux. Not sure of those model numbers but reports of the cheaper end of the Zanussi range now coming with a completely sealed outer drum like the Indesit is not good news. The Candy is marginally better than the Servis, but not by much.

Don may see this thread and be able to give you a more definative answer, but to be honest there is no getting away from the fact that ‘Cheap’ is just that, and there is nothing cheerful about cheap washing machines. 😥

    Re: Creda 37747 Condenser dryer

Are you fitting the correct stats to this machine, the red spot stat should be a 120° stat, not a 95° one. The other stat is the temp control stat. There is also another stat in the door surround.
The correct kits are as follows.

Date code less than 65 (red spot 120° ) kit 1701557

Date code more than 65 (green spot 130° ) kit 1701583

you should ensure that the customer is keeping the filters and the heat exchanger clean and also not opening the door mid cycle, you must allow the 10 minute cool down period to run its course.

Dreadful just now, last few days have been very patchy at all times of day, IE timing out on several occasions.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA63

Just ran a quick test on my own WMA63 whilst keeping one eye on my bacon, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms under the grill and the eggs nicely poaching in the pan. The 800 spin cycle should show 12 minutes in the display. it spins for two very short 15/20 second bursts at approx 400rpm, at around 7 minutes it spins at what appears approx 600 rpm for 25 seconds or so, it only does one spin at 800 rpm at around 3 minutes which also lasts about 25/30 seconds.

This is a WMA63 Ultima with digital display, only connection to control module is a single six wire block to the power board.
