Also worth mentioning that the machine is covered by Hotpoint’s 5 year parts warranty. You will only pay their ‘modest’ 😥 labour charge, just don’t tell them you have already tried to repair it.

    Check your e-mails Ashby. 😉

There is a full test sequence with its own set of error codes for the WMA62/3

Prewash & Rinse, lights 1 + 3 indicate a circulation pump fault. Check for displaced wiring, capacitor etc.

We’re not asked to do much for UKW, but it would be nice if we could all try a little harder when we are asked to help out.

We help them; they help us.

If we adopt such negative attitudes then we’re going to find it hard to make any headway.

Sorry, didn’t mean to sound negative, but I only have one pair of hands, the work has just gone of the scale for the past week or so, it can die away just as quickly but I am turning out this Sunday morning for the first time since I last had a fortnights holiday, and that was over ten years ago. 😥 I intend to do my bit regarding the MR as soon as I can draw breath. 🙂

    Re: Masterpart vs Parts Center?

They are certainly on the ball, I have just received a statement from Masterpart dated 01/11/05 , at the bottom it states invoices outstanding, ‘over 1 month’

the two invoices in question are dated 25/10/05 & 31/10/05 😆

They must have very short months in Essex.

Joking apart, I had a customer yesterday with a large family who was desparate to get her machine fixed. WMA10 with module fault. I would normally use QER or EMW and explained to her the options and the price/time difference. She insisted that speed was of the essence so I ordered the module online from Masterpart at 3.30PM yesterday and it was in my garage before 10.00 AM this morning.

    Excellent service.

I have received the market research forms, but am finding it difficult to get anyone to accept the offer of a ten minute phone call for MR purposes. I can only think of my own response when phoned about similar things. When I agreed to take part in the MR, I assumed it would be along the lines that Martin suggested. It would certainly elicit a better response from my customers. Thankfully, this past week or so I have been to busy to spend any time trying to get customers to accept the MR details, which from my point of view can only be a good thing. 😉

It could be either or it could be neither, it could also be the control timer, pressure switch or a wiring break. The only way to be certain is to test the individual components with proper electrical test equipment, with the mains plug removed of course.

Translated, that means its time for me to call an engineer!

    thanks for the help

Whenever I have to order a part such a a hose etc and the customer asks “how long will it be?” I just cannot resist saying, ” oh, about 14 inches”. 8)

We will try, if you post the correct model number. W100FW does not appear on any Hotpoint lists. How old is this machine if it has a ‘timer’ ?

Rang her back, she has turned the bathroom cold tap on and got a big gush of air and dirty brown water, she has just found out that the water board have been working round the corner, I was a little concerned as I had just done a bearing change last week.
