You could have a read of this thread, try the reset procedure, if that doesn’t work then it is time for the experts. 😉

    Re: Public Liability Insurance

In almost 26 years I can think of only three occasions when customers have claimed. All claiming for water/flood damage. In two instances I advised the insurance company that the nature of the customers plumbing and or poor quality of the installation made it impossible for me to refit the machine and water test, something I did inform the customers of at the time, however they still attempted to claim. How many of these claims were actually settled or refused is something that the insurance companies are very unlikely to tell you. The other claim was on a machine I had repaired the door seal on some three months earlier, the cold valve failed causing a flood. The problem was that it was in a newly modernised 1st floor flat and the owner and the occupant of the flat below where both on holiday. Whilst we all know that there is no way in the world that I was responsible for the valve failure, and they should have turned the water off at the mains, the fact that the insurance company dealt with everything was a great weight of my mind, the bill would have been around £20,000 to repair the damage.

Some people will try it on and the insurance companies are much better at dealing with these types than you or I.

Current list price for a 1800026 pressure switch is around £21.00 + vat.

You could try and measure the amount of water going into the machine, by filling on a Prewash then collecting the water discharged after the third fill and circulation ( I cannot see the point of two drain/fill sequences on Prewash either but that is correct according to the sequence chart ), you should get around 4.2 litres of water. If you do then the machine is taking in the correct amount of water, that would suggest an internal blockage is causing poor circulation resulting in the heater protection switch isolating the element. It could be a circulation pump impellor failure but I have never seen that on this model. Are all the holes in the spray arms clear?

Regarding public liabilty insurance, I pay £110 per annum for £2 million cover. An amount I consider just about the best insurance premium to risk cover I have ever had compared to house, car, personal, sickness insurances etc. I’m with the Co-op 🙂

Stats available from the shop part No 1701583. Handle the new green spot one with care.

Mains plug removed of course. 😉

If and when it is repaired, make sure the heat exchanger is kept clear and always allow the machine to complete a full cycle including the final 10 minutes cool tumble, don’t stop it half way through.

Re: INDESIT WD12 fault code 8

You may or may not have noticed that the forum is littered with Indesit 8 flash problems. According to Indesit, it means that a component on the control circuit board related to the heater is not operating. The reality is that 8 flashes can be caused by several other faults. Best advice is to see if we have an engineer in your area, bound to be quicker to call and also possibly less expensive than Indesit.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the Halfords Professional range comes with a lifetime warranty, even if the are mainly made in China or Taiwan 🙂 That makes P45’s investment very sound, if it breaks take it back for a new one.

Kids, 😆 no offence GB. 😉

” Whats that for mister, whad’yer doin mister, why aren’t you speaking to me mister, ” then the little blighters start poking around in your toolbox whilst mummy dear keeps saying “don’t do that” and they take no notice of her,…….. carefully closing the toolbox lid on the fingers usually works. 😈

Re: Hotpoint DWF30 – Lights but no action

Has the water inlet tap been turned off?

If the tap is turned on then with the machine switched OFF. press and hold buttons 1(Normal Wash ) & 3 (Quick Wash), switch ON then release buttons 1 & 3. The 2nd and 4th lights should be flashing to indicate test routine is active, press 1 & 3 again to start test. Total time for test will be about 25 minutes but I would guess that your machine will show an error code before that. Report back on any error letters/numbers that appear in the display. To stop the test switch OFF.

Well that was a complete waste of time, phoned LG was asked for model number and part numbers only to be told, “we don’t deal with that sort of thing, phone Comet or Currys”

Another customer for Bosch methinks. 😉
