    Re: New element to hot???

Good point, will need to investigate, she has just told me that the oven has been out of action for over six months before today.

Exactly what I thought, cannot see her accepting that though, looks like my powers of seduction/obfuscation, are going to be put the test. 😥

if all else fails I will give her Daves address. 🙂

ELE2015 should fit the oven, it fits nearly all the NArdi one’s, now a 3 turn 2.5kw element (improvement apparently ;))

    Dave.

HELP.. Fitted element ELE2015 to this cooker today. Fitted perfectly. Customer has just rung up to say that the inner glass door of the oven has exploded !!!!!
Could this be due to the new element or is it down to my usual bad luck. Is the inner glass door available for a Nardi FE 0614. Customer is one of those that is likely to demand a new cooker. 😥

Still, I could always ask Dave to go halves, 😉 🙂

Called this morning to a Hotpoint WM32, customer complains that machine is making a noise and will not empty.
Drain and remove pump to find four hairgrips in the pump/sump hose.

I show them to the lady of the house, telling her she should be more careful. “they’re not mine” she says indignantly, ” they are my husbands “.
Now for a second I think she is married to a nancy boy, but no, she says that he uses them to poke the wax out of his ears but leaves them in his shirt pockets. 😀

What about the outer wire on the old Creda machines, as thick as your arm, both ends hooked under a plate under the latchplate. Think I only ever managed to get one of those back on.

Re: New Hotpoint/Creda door seal bands

Not seen any of the zipper type bands on the drum to seal fitting, don’t find the one on the seal to cabinet front a problem, much better than the plastic fastener. normal long nosed pliers work fine on the outer one. Not sure if if that would be tight enough for the inner one though. 😥

Do you mean the band holding the seal to the drum, or the one securing it to the cabinet front?

The answer is in the public forums..here

Perhaps this info could be added to the trade section error codes thread.

NB. 3 phase motor, tech advice from Hotperloni is to leave machine for five minutes after unplugging before attempting to access electrical components. :zap:

If I need a new one any ideas of something cheap but suitable for doing at least one load per day?

That is what is known in the trade as an ‘oxymoron’ . You can get cheap ( you already have ) or you can get suitable, you’re choice.

There are several things that can cause your problem, some of which may be inexpensive to repair. If the machine is in a decent condition and the drum revolves without any undue noise then I would suggest you look here.

    Chris.

I wonder if something like this would not show up on test at Qer. I marked all the relays on the board before I sent it for test and none had been changed, the board came back NFF.

first thing I checked, problem is these wires are so flimsy you only need to look at them to make them fail 😥

Partfinder ( it is riddled with errors ) does not list an NTC ( also known as a thermistor 😉 ) for this machine.

The diagram for the DC27 shows what may be a thermistor but the corresponding part numbers are not in the parts list. 😥

Nearly there now, one last push.
It was very funny today when England started their second innings, lots of England fans started putting up their umberellas and waving them trying to make out that it was raining, so a nearby group of Aussies all took their shirts of, pretending it was hot & sunny. Then when Australia came back out after the first break for bad light, almost the whole team had sunglasses on, classic. 😀

Door switch itself is the most likely candidate especially if door seal is faulty. If you cannot get a reading between at least two of the terminals, regardless of the position then it is faulty.
