    Re: Interesting problem

Can report that using screen de icer did the trick, however he then had to resort to the hairdryer and several towels to melt all the de icer chemicals off the rest of the contents. 😆

Its a question from a bloke up in Scotland. I suppose that might work, or how about spraying some screen de icer on them?

Knowing some of the local ‘competitors’ (although they are very few in number these days) , I would advise the customer that I would be prepared to visit and give an estimate based on my own judgement. I would never commit to a quote for a motor on the phone. The number of motors ‘allegedly’ fitted when customers have paid out £100 for a pair of cheapo SD19’s that I have seen is frightening.

If the customer named the previous engineer I would, nine times out of ten know if it was a genuine quote.

Phoned Stoves minutes before you posted. 🙂

Aparently two different controls depending on serial number, earlier one at around £8.50 plus vat and PP, to the public and the one I need at around £12.00 plus.
I think the number you have given is the correct one and is a replacement for the earlier one as well.

Oops, it is on another forum I frequent.

    Try this link. http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=5/12013193056.gif&s=x2

The first link is an animated gif, much funnier than the static one.

Thanks. Actually I was repairing the washer, an Indesit stainless steel drum bearing change. Even managed to do this one. They asked me about the cooker which has been faulty since it was delivered 2 years ago.

The simmerstat shaft is just flopping around. They intended to get rid of the washer, cooker, dryer etc., they are all Silver, all 2 years old and they did not want any old cowboy in their house. They would sooner scrap perfectly sound appliances 😥 and buy more cheapo stuff. 👿

A work colleague gave them my number. 🙂

Just had one of those ‘European City Directories’ yesterday. Not had one for a while, the one that looks a bit like an invoice, sent out ot catch overworked or unatentive accounts departments into paying several hundred pounds for nothing. 👿

If you do find some waterproof bearings please let us all know, 😉 like watches, water resistant and waterproof mean very different things. 🙂

Bad news is I have just been informed that part does not include the plastic shaft which is the part that has failed, apparently I have to buy the whole motor. 😥

Turns out that the impellors are loose on the splined shaft.

    Model DH102
    PNC 911831027
    S/N 24160510
    Type 911N81-3F

    TDS lists two part numbers

    5026750900/3 & N:5027351200/9

    Any idea which I need?

    NB, both impellors are white.

Qualtex have a universal drain hose extension kit. DWH53

To be honest I never join fill hoses, much prefer to fit a 2.5 mtr hose rather than join up two fill hoses.

Could be 152, cannot see any other common ones that end in 2
