Just to tidy this one up in case it helps anyone else. New pressure switch did the trick. I dug out my invoices from 5/6 years back and found it was exactly the same fault. 🙂

I wouldn’t call my method, “ingeneous” it is simple, fast, removes 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of outer shells without recourse to the ‘big ‘ammer’ and does no damage whatsoever to the outer sleeve. 🙂
But then I have only been doing them for 38 years so I guess I still have a lot to learn. 😉 😀

Not an uncommon occurance on these 😉

    Dave.

By all accounts it is running smoothly enough, I have always found the control knobs on Zan machines to be prone to failure but they usually just turn around without you being able to move the timer, possible only a few of the internal lugs have snapped.

Just spoken to an old friend (still at hotpoint), in a word he is not sure if 9080P will fit post 2003 machines. He has no other info than is on the web site.
At under £20 for the kit I would think it a reasonable risk to take, far better than using it without the top on. Please make sure the plug is pulled before attempting to fit.

sorry, misprint in my earlier post, it should have been W200FW not FE.
1604769 is correct part according to latest Partfinder.
As you are in Carlisle, why not send the module to QER, they are very close to you and like EMW will test/repair/replace this type of module.
Both QER & EMW offer very speedy service.

It varies from model to model, it can be either or a combination of both.

Re: Creda W200FW Door locked light flashing

    From Partfinder.
    “Module change
From May 2004 (Date Code 29) the control module used on the production of models W200FW, W220VW & WMA5P ?? (think that is an error) changed back to an earlier version of software. As a result of this change, the above models cannot be programmed to the control module previously used in service for these models. To resolve this situation a new control module (1604769) is now available to be used as a replacement for these models.”

Personally I would do a full component/wiring check before changing the PCB. Unfortunately, I only have the details of how to run a component test on Hotpoint machines, and the procedure varies depending on the different controls and option buttons.

EDITED to correct model number. 😳

Re: How to take the washer lid off?

Looking at the diagrams for the WMA type machines and the one for your WD420 show what appears to be the same cabinet except for a different mains cable/mains filter fitting and some small holes in the lower back to allow the ‘Indesit’ type PCB to be fitted. The top of the cabinet looks identical but it is only an on screen diagram. It would be safer to make certain before ordering, I can find no reference for kits for late machines.
I will try and find more info for you if I can.

Re: How to take the washer lid off?

The part you require should be a 9080P Height Reduction Kit. Dave Conway should be able to supply, it is not a high use item so I cannot give you any idea as to price at this time on Saturday 😉 . I would strongly advise that you do not use the machine without a top of some kind.

Re: How to take the washer lid off?

There are height reduction kits available for the WMA cabinet based machines. They will reduce the height from 850mm to 820mm.
Part number will depend on the colour of your machine.

What is the letter after WD420 on the rating plate on the door hinge., G, P or T.

Re: HELP! Ariston oven doesn’t work; owner doesn’t have a c

Hi Nataly………Have a good look around, inside the door, under the door, on the back if it is not built in. You should be able to find some indication as to the model number, does it have a name as well as the brand name on it. Do any of the controls say ‘Auto’ , if it has accidentally been set to Auto it will not come on. There are so many different ways to set oven controls, if you don’t have a manual or a model number it is just a case of twiddling with the various timer controls until you find how to cancel the Auto function.
If you can find a rating plate and model number then manuals are available online following the link at the top of this forum.

NB. There are 75 different models listed under Ariston built in ovens.
