£299 at Amazon, looking at all the posts from Googling that model number at MSE etc it looks like they are offering new Whirlpool dryers to lots of people.

Must agree with several of the comments, they are bloody ugly looking things.

Out playing squash ATM, have a look at the error codes listed under HELP at the top if the forum, E2, F2 or two flashes should be the same error code.

Re: Hotoint HE8L493P FABRIC CONDITIONER NOT GOING DOWN

If we can’t see a user manual then we don’t know if the conditioner should go in on a quick wash, try it on a ‘proper’ wash to see if it takes the conditioner. As I mentioned the manual may well not have been made available yet due to machines age.

If it is still not taking it on the normal washes then it could be a faulty fill valve or an internal blockage inside the dispenser drawer. As it is still under warranty you should contact Hotpoint.

PS. You could ask Basil Fawltey why Manuel is not available . 🙂

Unfortunately the user manual for your appliance is not yet available to download from Hotpoint so we cannot check on the various programme differences for you.

If you persist in only using low temp, quick washes the fabric conditioner will be the least of your problems, but if you are happy to put your clothes back on when they may well still have bacteria on them keep on using low temp washes.

That’s very close to what several of the trade members would have suggested in the first place but we don’t like to appear facetious. 😉

Just had some interesting info on our friend PaulG, seems he has recently finished working for Eddie Laycock. He worked for ELDAR for 8 months and told Eddie it was the hardest time of his life. Eddie said his work was very poor indeed and he is surprised to see him posting on the forum as if he is an expert on everything. :rolls:

Unless someone who is a current or very recent company engineer can answer then you will have problems.

This is a very recent model and the only fault codes we have on Indesit made dishwashers do not go as high as 15.

Sadly you may have to contact them directly to find out.

Checking the motor carbon brushes should be your first move, after removing the mains plug of course.

Isn’t that to stop any fluff building up again

And as has already been mentioned, what happens when the rear bearing wears through, will the rivet then chew up the rear seal?

🙂 Reminded me a little of the ISE10 service videos, where the phrase, “you can easily” was repeated ad nauseam.
