Re: Indesit IWDE 12 drum clicking

Remove the back panel, take the belt off and spin the drum. If it is then silent the motor is at fault.
If the noise is still there then there is a foreign body inside the drum or possibly the drum support has cracked. The bearings make a loud rumbling noise when they fail.

Either way it may be time for a new machine, the outer drum is totally sealed so if there is something inside and you can’t extract it from the sump hose or by removing the heater it’s a complete drum assembly.

Valve or turbine faulty. Inlet valve, connections, valve letting water pass through
    when off.

They design them to be as cheap as possible, that sadly is what the great British public wants and it gets exactly what it deserves. :rolls:

Newish member totalshambles probably needs to be ‘brought into the fold’, most certainly trade.

A slightly argumentative style, especially when replying to trade members, just edited a post in the public forums, OK on the trade side but not sure ‘shagged bearings’ is right for the public side., even if it does get past the censor. ❓

Re: How to remove broken filter cover

The filter handle will have broken off because the filter is jammed with foreign bodies, coins, hairgrips, bra wires etc.

The only way to get the objects out is by removing the pump completely from the machine.

    Re: Indesit iwdc6143 not draining

first of all remove the pump filter again and shine a torch inside to make sure there is nothing jamming the impellor such as a hairgrip or piece of bra wire. You should be able to turn the impellor with your finger, it should not spin freely but flick round in quarter turns.
You should also check for any blockages in the grey plastic outlet pipe if it is connected to the undersink plumbing.

    Re: Hotpoint WDD960 Dryer Smell

If the fan is not running at the correct speed the temperature sensors and safety cut outs will either stop the heater from working or throw up an error message long before it gets hot enough to cause the outer drum to overheat. 😉

It could be a build up of fluff of a synthetic nature on the dryer heating element. The only way to find out is to fully remove the dryer assembly and strip down to investigate.

Re: Indesit Washer dryer Cycle not completing

F02 is a motor/pcb fault or due to bad connections between motor and pcb.

With that model number it should be under the five year parts warranty so it would cost you less to let Hotpoint/Indesit/Whirlpool fix it for their fixed ( high ) labour charge. You will be unable to fix motor or module yourself for less.

As the ntc is not even listed as a part and your model number does not correspond to any UK models it is nigh on impossible for us to tell you that.

Ha, I’ll bet you haven’t even seen the radios we had, about the size of six house bricks, all valves inside. The later small black one they introduced did work really well in this area.

It is usually the two thin black wires that go to the thermistor, the thermistor is not available as a spare part. 🙁

Have you checked the listed fault codes found under the Help & Advice link at the top of this page?

Re: the daft things engineer do !

A long story from the old Hotpoint days and office raised SSD’s (special spares docs)

I called to the cottage in Hadfield, Derbyshire ( yes Royston Vasey no less ) to attend a fridge with a tiny crack in the door liner which was under g/tee. The house was in a terraced row of several identical, stone fronted properties.
I asked the girls in the office to raise an SSD for this part, the SSD form came in three parts, one of which was stuck to the part which was delivered to our own garage at the time. Unfortunately the girl in the office had written the wrong address on the SSD number 16 instead of 18.
The part was out of stock and didn’t arrive until six weeks later when the job was booked out.
I went along to number 16, knocked on the door but got no answer however the next door neighbour at number 14 opened her door and said she had a key. I went in and there in the kitchen was the same model of fridge and as it was six weeks later it seemed to be in more or less the same place. I set to work changing the door liner but all the while I couldn’t see the crack that the liner was supposed to have which did puzzle me somewhat. I left the job and later that afternoon had the office on the radio saying the customer had rung to ask why I hadn’t arrived after she had been contacted by phone to book the call for the morning.

Turned out that not only did the office put the wrong number on the SSD but the two neighbours had identical fridges in the exact same spot in their kitchen. 😳 😀
