That error code is exactly that that, you have a leak in the base which needs investigating and fixing.

Just had a customer on the phone who has contacted them about his Indesit dryer, gave them model details and was told he would be contacted about it in five weeks time.

No, the pcb is the main cause of this fault TBH. The temp sensor in the base is just overheat protection.

    Re: Indesit IDL530 heating fault

Have you checked the wiring for continuity between the pcb and the heater. It is not uncommon for the wiring harness to break inside the door, often near the hinges.
Failing that I would suspect the pcb ‘repair’.

Does your pcb have the small thermistor hard wired into the pcb? It is the small L shaped device that clips to the inner door panel?
This part is not available as a separate spare part.

There is some discrepancy between the actual parts lists and the service manual, parts lists show a separate temp sensor in the base tub and manual says the ntc/thermistor is hard wired to the pcb.?????

May need to take a selection of heating elements as well, what percentage would you think will totally collapse as you remove them given just how flimsy they are. :rolls:

    Re: Hotpoint SDW60P Overheating

Hi and welcome to the forums.

What was the initial complaint from the customer?

TBH even water at 45C would feel seriously hot to the touch, you would need to use a thermometer to be certain it was overheating.

The resistance of the temperature sensor varies because it is an NTC, not a thermostat.

If it is faulty then it is hard wired to the pcb in any case.

Two variants of this machine, one Chinese :rolls: .

Full model number, commercial code and serial number needed to identify the correct module.

Just wish you would use a grammatically and literally correct replacement such as excreta, unicorn poo does not mean something is poor quality, it means it is non existent. 😉

Which is more or less what you have just posted. Although as this is an 8 year old thread there is a good chance most of these machines have been replaced by now. 😉

The motor can be checked using a suitable multimeter or megger. Check the condition of the ends of the brushes you fitted. They should be nice and shiny, if they are rough end pitted then the motor is shot.

The pcb that is far more likely to cause this fault is the main pcb in the base.
