Interesting, it has a 3 phase motor which doesn’t have any brushes. 😉

Well you would certainly need the training. 😉 :rotfl:

Back up to speed again, a couple of hours ago it timed out more than once whilst other sites loaded in seconds.

Only thing I can think of is that if it had got into the sump hose then it would seriously restrict the water outlet flow.

Try the machine on a wash and spin now you have removed it.

TBH in a machine with a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} stainless steel inner and outer drum there will be little to attract lime scale other than the element and a 95 degree wash will be the main reason for it clearing.

That looks like part of the filter that sits in the bottom end of the condenser, where it goes into the side of the drum, see ‘Steam intake filter’ in attached picture. It is available as a spare but is very difficult to replace. Also for that to have come away like that suggests that it has been hit by a hard foreign body such as a large coin or similar.

    Re: Hotpoint TCUD97B leaking

If the pump was faulty then no water would get into the water container at the top. Leaks usually caused by failing to clean the condensor on a regular basis.

The small hole at the very back of the condensor chamber can get partially blocked and is not easy to get at to clean. I sometimes use a large plastic bag tie to poke through the hole into the float chamber.
