ModeratorIf the knob keeps on going round then count the flashes, There should be a definite pause before it starts flashing again.

ModeratorActually saw very few of these (thankfully). I have found an original manual for the WMTL79 which is virtually the same machine. Unfortunately no diagnostics in it.

ModeratorThat’s E11, supposed to be a faulty main module. That failing would not cause any noises, the main circulation pump is still the likely cause of your fault. Either way those parts are very expensive and the module needs to be programmed as well.
If another trade member has the exact SDL codes hopefully they can confirm.

ModeratorShould be the same as these, use the position/number of each light to identify. Three vertical lights are 1,2,3. The start/pause is light 4.

Sadly the main circulation pump is prone to failure on these Indesit made appliances and would give the symptoms you describe.NB. The sequence you are giving is lights 2+3+4, this not a recognised error code.

ModeratorMost of the trade are well aware of using a small amount of PROPER DISHWASHER DETERGENT in the prewash. Although with the modern detergents it is hardly necessary.
The chemical make up of dishwasher and laundry detergent is completely different in every possible way.iadom
ModeratorSadly this usually not good news, often down to the expensive and nowadays hard to get electronics. I think I still have the service manual. If you want a look at it PM me an email address.

ModeratorYou can put laundry detergent in if you want to give the kitchen floor a good clean as well and possibly wreck the dishwasher.:o Do not under any circumstances use laundry detergent or washing up liquid. It’s just as daft as putting petrol in a diesel car.

ModeratorIf it was totally silent that could be a faulty fill valve but it uses the same cold fill valve for the washes as well. Worn motor brushes can also cause the control timer to stick so worth having a quick look at those as well

ModeratorIs it making any noises when it appears to be stuck?

ModeratorIt could also be syphoning if it sticks during rinse. Is the grey plastic outlet hose connected to a stand pipe?

ModeratorWould need to see that. 😉

ModeratorThe funnel is used when filling the salt container, the shower head device is to fit in place of the top arm when cleaning very large dishes or trays. Put them to one side until or if you need them.

ModeratorI once did a belt change on a White Knight dryer which this one may be, bloody awful job.:(

ModeratorOne trick I used when refitting the capacitor. I had a good length of strong cord and looped that between the connections on the capacitor. Once the capacitor threaded stud was located into position I could use the cord to hold the capacitor in place giving me room to get my arm down with the nut instead of trying to get two arms into the same space.

ModeratorAlways was a very badly designed appliance from a servicing angle.
