Am I mistaken or did I send you the full pdf manual a while back?

As far as the heater is concerned a simple continuity and resistance test would soon tell you if it was faulty. I have the exact same machine but tbh I have never had to do a reset on one, will have to have a look at the manual myself.:)

🙂 I well remember going to a Bosch tumble dryer (same as Siemens) some years ago. A large house and kitchen with washer, dishwasher, oven and fridge all also Bosch appliances. The lady of the house rather haughtily informed me that she only buys German equipment as it is the best there is. The look on her face when I informed her that her ‘Bosch’ dryer was made just up the road in Huddersfield by Crosslee,..priceless.:D

You don’t mention wether or not you have tried to remove the pump filter at the front. The first place to check for blockage or obstruction. Don’t tilt the machine back when you do this, just have plenty of towels handy.

Doesn’t need much, you must have a leak somewhere.

It’s very likely that the thermistor is not open circuit at all. It has a much higher resistance than a basic thermostat so a simple circuit test would show as open circuit. A faulty thermistor should also show an error code.

If the motor makes a humming noise the chances are the capacitor has failed, quite common.

Have you got water in the base?

Never, ever turn any appliance that uses water upside down unless you want to ruin it. E15 is supposed to be a flooded base. Place a couple of towels on the floor and carefully tilt the machine no more than 45 degrees backwards or to the left side looking from the front. If water runs out from underneath that confirms the base is flooded. The cause of the leak needs investigating, remove the side panels to inspect.

LG the main users of direct drive, nothing at all wrong with a belt drive.;) TBH the mains plug is the most common cause of this type of smell, have you got another socket nearby you can try it in?

Heavy current being drawn for a longer period causing overheating at loose connections.

More likely to be a loose contact somewhere. After the mains plug the next possible suspects are the terminal block where the mains cable enters the machine just inside the cabinet and the wiring connections to the heater.

A Bosch based machine, was subject to a recall some years ago due to the pcb setting on fire. Pcb will more than likely be NLA or a silly price if it is available. I have resoldered them in the past but stopped doing it due to the known fire risk. Worth having a look at the pcb just to confirm diagnosis.

Its got to be quite an old machine now though.

Light #2 is supposed to indicate a flooded base. You need to unplug then drag the machine out. Place a couple of towels on the floor then tip the machine over at a 45 degree and see if any water runs out. If it does you have an internal leak which needs fixing.

A quick thing to look at before you drag it out is the lower spray arm mounting. Is this mounting fixed and solid or does it move about a little? It is quite common for the lower spray arm mounting to come loose, it can usually be re tightened without having to pull the dishwasher out but you will then need to allow any water in the base to evaporate or try and remove the lower front panel and use a towel to soak it out.

Have you had a close look at the mains plug and wall socket?
