    Re: ISE10 1606W bearings

Something obviously wrong but difficult to say what it could be from that.

If you take the belt off and then spin the drum as fast as you can through the door it should be absolutely silent, no noise of any kind.
If you can hear anything at all with the belt off it would point to bearings.
Bearings themselves don’t fail initially, it is the water seal that fails allowing detergent and water into the bearings.

Not the easiest bearing change for sure.

    Re: ISE10 1606W bearings

Loose weights on ISE 10, doesn’t happen.

Suspension faults also very, very rare. I have only ever changed one single rear suspension leg due to a leak from above.

Foreign bodies, large coins etc inside the outer drum a possibility, you can easily remove one of the drum lifters to check for this and examine the heating element at the same time. I have had one heating element that was loose and the machine sounded like an automatic rifle on full spin.

Details of how to remove the drum lifters is in the user manual.

Rumoured that sales of decent ‘syrups’ ( cockney rhyming slang) are at an all time high amongst their ranks.

TBH it won’t really worry them, it’s the Indies who fit them out of warranty who will be suffering. 🙁

Re: Brand new Hotpoint BHWD129 washer and dryer strange nois

The water feed into the condenser is normally a steady trickle, never heard one make that noise. Certainly nothing to do with being unlevel.

I would get Hotpoint to check it out.

This machine is basically a bog standard 10 year old design from Indesit, no obvious changes to the internals on the dryer side as far as I can see.

Not seen one either, looks like a Whirlpool job.

Not sure if the ntc shown on the fan cowling is the one you need.

Also why has it come loose, could there be another fault that has caused this?

Because it is basically a cheapo Indesit under the skin. 🙁

    How old is the machine?

Full wrap round cabinet on this machine. so everything has to be lifted out through the top. 🙁

Peel back the door seal to check and look up underneath as well.

Drum assembly is around £160 and the earlier drum is no longer available. If you have the earlier drum assembly then it would also need a new condenser to fit with the new drum. Full serial number needed to identify which drum yours has.

Doesn’t appear to be listed as a separate part, just control panel.

Re: AEG lavamat Turbo protex not drying

Can you run the diagnostics routine.

With one finger switch the machine on and hold, then press the start/pause button and the next option button to the left, hold all three for about three seconds until the display starts scrolling through.

Turn the control knob one click at a time until you get an error message displayed. There are around fifty of them, all begin with E.

NB. You don’t mention checking the elements for insulation leaks to earth, a very common cause of strange faults on Zanussi washer dryers.
