    No stock in the UK at any of the usual sources. Connect will be able to order you one but as it’s a Vestel, expect it to take months rather than weeks!

    Part number is 42023886

    There’s a reason why they are taking nearly a third off the price!!

    If you purchase it, pay for the extra cover, then when it breaks down for the fourth time , 6 weeks after the initial guarantee runs out, you will at least get another unit!

    37001496 is the thermocouple for the AUX burner on the hob NOT the oven.

    Correct PN for the Oven Thermocouple is 37001495. 1 digit out but it makes all the difference.

    I think we 1 in stock. If you PM me your address I will send it you on a sale or return basis, if you want.

    Or Connect have them in stock also.

    Re: Hoover Candy Group

    But surely Bryan if they really wanted to work alongside you and the WTA they would be doing just that!

    I know you have gone over and above being reasonable with all concerned and yet I still see a recruitment drive by GIAS in the general forums, not through the WTA.

    Now given that between us, we cover pretty much all the products skill sets they need for nearly half the country why would they recruit like this? Perhaps because they have no interest in behaving reasonably and there only interest is keeping the customers off their backs.

    As to low labour rates, I have a email from Darron Eaton from GIAS just last week saying a double visit to a 100cm Rosieres LPG fuelled range cooker 60 miles away from my nearest engineer will only be paid at a rate of £45 for the completed call.

    That doesn’t sound like they want to work with us to me.

    Also my understanding is Baumatic spares are still coming out of the UK not Italy.

    I have a Baumatic WD call from GIAS needing a tub job doing on it. Baumatic when they were Baumatic didn’t do tub jobs the units were exchanged.

    Now Hoover want a tub job doing, and so they send me £240 worth of spares but no outer tub because Baumatic don’t and have never held the required outer tub in stock.

    So for the past 4 weeks I am £240 out of pocket on the parts, no eta on the outstanding parts, have a customer whom thinks my service is poor and I am being chased daily by GIAS for updates on parts which they have no idea when they will if ever be available.

    Whilst I am sure it is easier to invoice via their online WMA system, we are now 18 months down the line and still don’t have full access to that system.

    They keep promising it but nothing materialises a bit like their spares!

    All I want is when they come to recruitment and for all the guys whom may or may not want to apply is they know at the outset what it’s going to be like working for them.

    You need to replace the thermostat and rewire the lead.

    Isolate the unit fully before conducting the repair.

    Having been an “agent” on this Hoover (Baumatic) work for some time now, it would be helpful if they explained a few things:

    1. It will take them 3-6 months to open an account for you, meanwhile they expect you to treat the odd job a month as a a priority;

    2. Getting technical information from them will be a nightmare and you will be passed from person to person;

    3. All the calls you get will be 2-3 weeks or more old as they will have previously touted it around to 2/3 other agents or even their own guys before you get anywhere near it.

    4. When you do turn up you will find on about 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of your calls the unit will already have been attended by someone else, or will have been exchanged meaning you get nothing for your time;

    5. You will pretty much have to double visit all your calls because spares are a nightmare to obtain. (We have 6 calls waiting for simple spares like knobs, seals and heating elements all of which are over 3 months old)

    6. When you finally get to submit an invoice, expect it to be rejected for some idiotic reason such as wrong serial number because it doesn’t fit the eight digit sequence Hoover use. This means you have half a day chasing someone to tell them Baumatic serial numbers vary and don’t fit an eight digit sequence to be told “oh we will get back to you” which they will a week or so latter asking you to send it in again.

    7. You will have to wait on average 60 days to get your £40

    8. Because of the spares supply problem, they charge you for the spares sent which might be only half of what you want so come month end you will have a van full of unusable spares and still be expected to pay them.

    8. Because of the length of time getting spares a good portion of what you have looked at will be exchanged and no one will have told you.

    9. Sending parts back is a bigger nightmare than getting them in the first place.

    10. Getting the credit for returned parts is even harder if not impossible.

    11. There call centre will promise the customer ANYTHING they want to hear to get the customer off the phone, and then blame you for not following through on it, such as agreeing to calls after 6pm on a Saturday!

    In short, expect to make nothing whatsoever or worst still pay to do there work for them, expect to chase your own backside and to be treated like scum and expect to increase your stock holding of unusable parts by a considerable amount.

    You pays your money, you takes your choice!
