Well I hope when we were agents we were up to the job as I don’t recall ever having a rejected claim.
Nope none of my engineers have qualifications but they do have experience and someone looking over their shoulders checking they remain on the mark, called the Service Manager.
Apart from LG crap where every part is separate I can’t remember ever ordering 8 parts to complete a repair to a unit but hey ho!

ParticipantRe: Payment for services
Another one of those “it depends on the contract made at the time of the transactional decision”
It is not illegal to take payment up front.
Tescos effectively want payment for your shopping up front ie before you leave the store for example.
Its a tad discourteous not to tell you they were debiting you when they did and then blame you for their error. So I understand the frustration.
It will make you think next time about using that particular company though.

Nope, it’s almost certainly the clock itself.
If all other functions are working ok, live with it would be my advice.

Yea yea yea
Of the people, organisations and industry connections, they choose to consult you Lee, sadly I think you really are that delusional Lee.
I would ask you to give some contacts details if the people within these manufacturers you claim are consulting with you so we can check out these stories you tell us Lee but you will never reveal them will you Lee, because they don’t exist in reality.
Its easy to say but hard to prove.
We work for many manufacturers at both the high end luxury market and cheap budget market, and none of them know what on earth you are going on about.
Samsung are the only manufacturer doing anything and they only want to do it for themselves so not an industry wide thing at all. As I have previously said I think they are hoping it will lead to them finding someone able to correct the crock of sh1t they currently produce rather than lead the industry to better levels.
As to insulting your mother, I apologise, it was never ever my intention, I meant your lover!
As for the treat of physical violence, well that sums you up. I am off to change my pants now, a tiny bit of wee just came out as I laughed so hard at the threat.
You pathetic Lee just pathetic!

I have posted in the Know How thread and now see its split to Kees thread.
I have no ideas how to move the post but its confusing where it is, can you move it please?

I have no problems with training or qualifications within this industry, in fact those that actually know me know I am one if the first to promote it and encourage it.
I was one of the first to promote it and encourage a formal recognition of training when I was on the DASA council 20 plus years ago.
But here is the problem.
The government don’t want it so won’t support it because unless it is compulsory it is too expensive to support and gives them no method of generating them an income;
Most manufacturers don’t want it so won’t support it because it means the cost of service will be higher to them;
The retailers don’t want it so won’t support it because it will mean less margin on the box;
The customer doesn’t want it so won’t support it because it will mean ultimately higher costs of running the machine for them.
So who is going to support it, next to nobody, so if you cannot get the support to force it through the industry then your wasting your time. It’s a bit like demanding a legal requirement for all engineers to drive a Mercedes estate car rather than a van, nice thought but that’s as close as it will ever come to being reality.
With regards to discussion, then your idea of a discussion Lee is to voice your opinion and hope your voice is the loudest and when it isn’t, shout louder and louder until it is.
You offer little to nothing of further interest to any subject that you haven’t already forced on us before and go on and on and on like a jammed CD.
That’s not discussion that’s a form of bullying. You made your point months ago on the subject of qualifications, we stopped, we read what you said, we DISCUSSED it, we felt you were wrong and you do nothing but continue to drivel on and on about it.
You have had plenty to time to get something going, get those whom can influence the industry to listen but you have gotten absolutely no where and I suspect you never will; so you spend your time on here hijacking threads to spread your one sided personal propaganda because no one else is listening.
Some one has just asked me via a PM what my issue is, well for that person and anyone else reading it this,
I find your comments Lee insulting, insulting to those thousands of technicians/engineers or what ever term people want to use, who struggle to make a living in this industry doing a bloody good job each and every friggin day they go to work.
The ones whose only qualification in life might be a driving licence and there personal experience of doing a bloody good job.
To suggest those guys out there are not as good as you because they choose to learn the hard way, on the job, rather then sit in a classroom being lectured at, is insulting to them and its insulting too me.
A certificate or qualification will not make one single man on here a better engineer or technician, you either have the skills to do this job or you don’t! Fact full stop.
Every industry has its share of rogues and ability deficient people in it ripping people off. Read the Gas Safe Register magazine to see how many get caught there for example.
Did regulation based on qualifications make the industry any better? Has the requirement to be qualified and certified made it safer or are there still illegals making a good living at it, at the expense of those of us whom spend a fortune on doing it properly?
The reason the illegals remain in the industry is because the cost of retraining and obtaining certificates and being qualified is so expensive everyone’s pricing has gone up to cover it and we created a gap in the market for the illegals to operate in.
Now stop insulting those whom struggle to do a extremely difficult job under very difficult circumstances, you and your qualification are no better than them! As an employer with over 35 field engineers I would take and experienced engineer over you and your qualification every time !
You have had your discussion months ago, its no longer a discussion, its just you banging on and on about something that you cannot sort out because the industry doesn’t actually want it.
If you really are that passionate about it, make some noise with enough of the powers that be, to actually get them interested in seriously doing something about it and then I will take you seriously and support you all the way, until then, your just a joke as far as I am concerned!

Anyone wanna run a book on how long it is before Lee bangs on on here about qualifications or how much better he is then those three or five incompetents he keeps mentioning without going into details about because it makes he sound better than he really is, because he will, you know it, I know it and he knows it.
For Lee, I think this is all a ego trip, its a way to convince himself that he is actually as good as he thinks he is. Reality and experience tells me this type of person is usually a little worse, quality wise, than his peers and he is jealous of them.

I don’t need thanks for anything, I saw bovine manure which could serious affect the health of UKW members pockets and having previously had to spend considerable time and effort recovering funds for some of those members I thought a bit of preventative medicine was better than letting UKW guys get hurt. I am lazy that’s all!
It wasn’t to specifically help WTA members it was to try to educate all members, so I don’t think the WTA should be specifically involved.
Trust me guys, I am big enough, ugly enough and sadistic enough to stand up for myself; they won’t give me one seconds worth of grief or lost sleep, at the end of the day, the documents are all there to prove the connection in their very own handwriting. They know whom I am, where I am and how to contact me but they haven’t.
I am grateful to Ken for his post though, I just wish I knew how to do all the fancy posting bits on here rather than have to trouble him uploading stuff. Thanks Ken.
I am sure Bryan (R600), and a few others can vouch for my skills at being the small little guy taking on the Goliath and winning. I don’t do the tools side of life, my toolkit is a pen and knowledge, and if it helps keep a certain person happy, yes I have the certificates to prove it.
See you in Sept, Bryan owes me a drink and I am gonna be thirsty!

Poor loading by the Cust is usually the cause of this.
The PCB is very sensitive to out of balance so uneven and or small loads cause the OOB sensor to flip causing the spin to shut off and try to rebalance the load then try again. Net result it attempts to spin, stops then tries again and so on.
The PCB is also common but its usually taken out but the motor shorting.
