I do loads of these and in 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cases it is the PCB, very rarely is it the de-frost heater, also check the bi-metal stat as they sometimes come unclipped.

Is there a test programme on these appliances? Be handy to know if there was.

Nice one, is this a common fault? I have got some ceramic 20mm 6.3 are these ok. Forgive me but as i said a I havnt been to one of these before, the pcb is on the top of the appliance, is it easy to get to?

99.9{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time the rear pcb is all that is required, the chattering is the relayt on the board. I think I have only changed a couple of de-frost heaters. A common fault is also that the bi-metal stat comes apart but the fact that the board is chattering almost certainley means new pcb 9depending on the serial you may need both)

Sensor? Its about half way down at the back of the fridge, not uncommon for those to go faulty.
