    Re: LG WM1437BFD INFO REQ

    Thanks guys,

I did something today that i haven’t done for over 20 years, I took the machine into the workshop to repair. I normaly do all repairs in the house but this house had nice tiled floors and worst of all had a bloody great AGA which was giving out more heat than Sellafield.

I saw the oil stains on customers whites but if I did not know about the stains I would have said that the bearings were OK. Stripped it down and found what was left of a pair of tights wrapped round the shaft on the drum and a tiny amount of rusty water in between the bearings. When turning the inner bearing by hand it sounds perfectly normal but to hell with the expense I have ordered a back half from SEME which only costs £55+VAT. I can only assume that the seal is gone and want this one repaired and gone with no come backs…

I will say that I was quite surprised on the build quality of this machine, especially the harnesses and hoses which have no dangly bits anywhere to get caught and chaffed.

    Re: Another joke.

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson , died and went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur. ‘Since you’ve been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven.’ Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, ‘ I want to hang out with God.’ St.. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.

God recognized Arthur and commented, ‘Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle? ‘ Arthur said, ‘Yeah, that’s me…’
God commented: ‘Well, what’s the big deal in inventing something that’s pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution and can’t run without a road?’ Arthur was a bit embarrassed, but finally spoke, ‘Excuse me, but aren’t you the inventor of woman?’ God said, ‘Ah, yes.’ ‘Well,’ said Arthur, ‘professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention !

    1. There’s too much inconsistency in the front-end suspension
    2. It chatters constantly at high speeds
    3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble about too much
    4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust
    5. The maintenance costs are outrageous!!!!

‘Hmmmmm, you may have some good points there,’ replied God, ‘hold on.’
God went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.

‘Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,’ God said to Arthur, ‘but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours’.

Thanks Loaf. I saw that lock on their website but as it was listed under a different model number I was not sure if it was the correct one.

There is an earlier post <a href="http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=44543&highlight=loader+manual
” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow”>HERE that has a link to a breakdown of the parts for this machine, it is an older model but the guts are the same.

The plastic pots are only there to catch the pins which should drop down into the pot on installation. The pins are part of the transit strap, there should be 3 pins, check just above the pot without the pin just in case the pin didn’t drop when it was installed as this would cause your problem.
I have also emailed you a training manual for the older version of the machine, the newer versions are the same but have different timer and cosmetics.

    Hi K,

Do we need to get the customer to sign the completed job sheet, the reason I ask is if we dont need a signature can we get the jobsheets in excel format. This would enable us to fill in all details on a pc and email all the jobsheets for the month with the claim sheet. It would also make it easier for the girls in the office to read the jobsheets…..

    Re: Whirlpool 3RLSQ8033SWO Tub loose

    Hi Robbra,

There is a few faults that can cause this so try checking these ones out.

The tub is secured to the base by the brackets that the 3 springs are fitted to, the spring brackets are held in place by a screw that goes through the tub onto the metal base. When moving the tub by hand there should be a fair bit of movement in all directions except up and down.

If it is the inner drum that is moving up and down take the agitator off and look at the big nut on the top of the gearbox shaft, this should be fixed to the block below and if loose can allow the drum to move up and down. Also take the nut off and the aluminium block that it is attached to and check that the block has a lip at the inside top, sometimes these wear causing the drum to collapse onto the tub.

Aa faulty/blocked pressure switch causing the machine to take too much water will cause this problem.

The last one that I can think of is a dodgy gearbox causing the machine to jerk when the motor starts.

Re: Whirlpool AWM6163 Bearing seal-v ring

The tub in this one is not sealed, if you have the cast off pull the shaft of the drum straight back and the stainless backplate will seperate, once the drum is out all you do with the seal is slide it down to the bottom of the shaft with the sloped edge pointing towards the bearings. The four bolts you took out are all that is holding the backplate on.
