    Re: 1606 bearing changes

It was pretty tight but when I pulled the drum I could feel some play in it and it eventually came off, I think it was the seal that was holding it tight and not the bearings

    Re: 1606 bearing changes

Not too bad a job as bearings go. I used my old trusty lump hammer and chisel and the bearings came out quite easily, when I fitted the new ones I just put the old bearing if front of the new one and knocked back in with the hammer. I always put the new bearings into the customers freezer before fitting and it seems to help them go in easier.

When fitting the front plate make sure that the gap between the front plate and the drum is even all round, on my 1st try I had water pouring out of the seal before I noticed that the drum looked off centre.
This is one of them jobs that will be easier the 2nd time around

Personally, as a vet, I had no problems with the mare’s :rotfl:

The silver service was a bit slow but all in it was another great night, try and get the sauna rooms for next year Tracey so I can recuperate in the morning.

I just noticed Jim’s last post in the NAC thread where he highlighted the fact that John Cohen got his bear and bare mixed up.

It got me thinking and if you search through the villageidiot2 posts you will see he has made the exact same mistake in 5 different posts….. May be they both went to the same school :rolls:

I would ban them both in a heartbeat, it is getting embarrassing reading the drivel and the excuses used by Ade and his split personalities and I would think that most members realise what is going on and it should be stopped now.

It will probably be the lower heater plate.

stick a big flat driver in behind and lift up and they pop off. To refit hold in place and knock back into place with a hammer, mind the fingers….

    Re: What Made You Walk

I walked from a few over the years and most of them were cookers. The cooker below was cleaner than the floor around it and the customer could not see what the problem was, insurance company cancelled her policy. I had to force the storage compartment door open to get to the rating plate

No Picture attached but I assume that it is this part you are looking for.

Check the size, IIRC there are two different sizes and the one in the shop is 65mm.

Push bung into place from the inside and all should be fine, before buying take base off machine to see if there is any water damage….

Re: Fisher & Paykel dishwasher door switch inop?

Changing a heater plate is one of them jobs that you have to see being done before you could attempt the job, the tub has to be stripped completely to get at it, I know appliance engineers who won’t take this one on so I would suggest getting someone to do it for you.

If the heater plate goes open circuit it kills the power to the drawer, to get access to test the heater plate involves stripping down the tub.

Check the RH side of the display to see if there is a padlock symbol there, if there is hold the RH button for a few seconds and the padlock will disappear and the dish drawer should work.

If the display is dead it will probably be the heater plate that is faulty.

Just took a look at the talkappliance website and it looks like Luke has lost interest, the site is now polluted with spam.
