ParticipantRe: Winter Tyres?
I think there is a bit of confusion here, winter tyres and snow tyres are not the same. Winter tyres are used when the temperature drops below 7 degrees on an average day, snow tyres are for snow only. I have been using winter tyres for the past 4 years and apart from the initial cost of buying a spare set of wheels they cost very little to run. When I had the Merc estate it was diabolically bad in the wet/ice/snow and when I put the winter wheels on the difference is amazing. As Jim says they will take you up a hill covered in snow, not slip about in the ice and the stopping distance in the wet is vastly improved. I am in the mild Midlands and would not approach a winter again without having these tyres on my car.

ParticipantRe: fisher & paykel ff how to remove side panels in freezer
Some side panels have a solitary screw at the back which has to be removed but if no screw there extend both drawer runners on the side panel, put a towel over the end of upper and lower runners and grab both runners, push them back about a couple of inches and then sharply jerk forward and the side panel should then come free.

ParticipantRe: whirlpool oven temp wont go higher then 160
I cant find that model but assume it is a g2p90Fwh
If it is this one and it has a static setting on the main oven that wont go over 160 I would be checking the upper and lower elements first, if they are both OK then I would suspect the main board. If it is on the fan setting and is heating to 160 I would go straight for the main board.

The part number for the main board I gave you is the latest one, the previous part numbers are 817850P, 820504P and 820818P
Door harness is available as a spare part and costs around £16 ex VAT, part number is 814416P

Hi Chris,
Make sure you slide your fingers up each wire from the harness plug to where the wires go into the top of the door, it might look OK but you will feel an internal break if there is one.
The main control board for that fridge is now part number 837765P and the retail price is about £85+VAT the user board is part number 821074P and retails at about £48 + VAT
If you need any more info send me a PM with your email address.

Check the harness at the top of the door under the hinge cover, if it is Ok then it has to be either the fascia board or control board.
Post up the PN number and I will let you know the correct board if needed, £200 is way over the top and I would guess the board is well under £100
