And the condensor lost count of the amount of times I’ve pointed out to clean it frequently and they didn’t know it was there.

I worked for Hotpoint for approx 32 years, it is not company policy to reset TOC’s if it was found out you did it, it would be a disciplinary and more than likely dismissal, regarding fixing the fault before replacing kits or element that i would assume is common sense, as the cycle stat is rated lower than the one shot if the one shot blows it is good parctice to change both as the cycle stat could be damaged.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

The reason Hotpoint/Indesit supply them as a pair is if the cycle stat fails the one shot blows, if they wanted you to reset them they would have a button i have lost count of the times i have went back to a reseters call only to replace stat kit or complete heater kit, i prefer to be safe than sorry.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

I know of a good few engineers that used to reset the toc with a pin arguing that if they knew what caused it to open all was okay, so they could get a complete call if they didn’t have the thermostat kit for it, scared me at the time even more now anybody doing the recall how do they know if some muppet has reset it before, and the thing goes up in flames.

What about the door interlocks on the front loaders and washer dryers, I cannot be alone I’ve had umpteen of them burnt out due to crappy connection.I think Whirlpool should be very worried as we all know they have a lot more than T/dryers to sort out the whole Indesit range of products have issues.

I dont do a lot of card transactions, i use pay leven works okay most times if i cannot get a signal most customers will let me access their wifi to process the transaction the charge is higher but i’m not tied to a monthly contract, it works for me.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

It just gets better it seems if you need a new drum on the vented dryers, the one supplied now is slightly different and only has a 4mm rivet protruding through the back instead of a 5 mm, so it requires a totally new back panel it’s all starting to get a bit confusing now?

Just heard they have started a new employed engineer close to me solely doing dryers apparently doing 5 a day to start with. Think I would be climbing the wall doing that amount.

Had to laugh at the email from first for service Whirlpool are demanding a 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} first time fix? Their own engineers are lucky to hit 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} due to most dryers needing other parts.

Re: how do you deal with non payers?

I had one who was advised what the cost would be when i called back, only to be told no cash gave her my bank details was told it would be paid right away, needless to say weeks and phone calls text messages all blanked, her big mistake was using her husbands phone who was a well known coach in his field, who had moved back home to coach she was busy trying to sell the house, i have true caller and dialer on my phone so it gave me his name, a wee search on facebook brought up his facebook page a private message to him and hey presto paid the next day oh for the power of facebook.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Registered mine in Novemeber told 5 weeks last month told done Feb or take a new one at £100 now put back to March, think ther may may be a few problems in the ship Whirlpool, i know of at least 4 Franchise engineers like myself who had enough, i know of a good long time employed engineer who is calling it a day because of pressure no job to go to but had enough, nobody even trying change anybodys mind or trying to help, i know of 1 or 2 others looking at their options at the moment, this is in this little area if that was to happen country wide there could be trouble ahead.
