Every Hotpoint engineer has a vanstock of 3 rear halfs and 3 drum spiders but if they have not been allocated 2 slots i’m afraid they wont do on the first call.

If the control module is blown check wiring down by the bottom balance weight has not been rubbing on it, but i would guess your machine is fitted with a Bosch motor. You can tell if it is as the brush holders have a white cover on them, if you have better phone Hotpoint as the Bosch motor is cr@p and has a habit of blowing module and door interlock when brushes go. They will replace motor with FHP motor which is quieter also.

If its not a broken wire at the thermistor, it normaly is the module for this fault i’m afraid.

I’m a Hotpoint engineer most eng’s let it go and dont chge, if its rubbish in the machine usualy a warning is enough to get them to check the wash after the second taking crap out , i’ll chge on the 3’rd visit, in my book charging for faulty instalation etc will only get customers back if another problem happens and is a machine fault.

You will have to remove icemaker then remove the back panel which gives access to evaporator area for the heaters the defrost timer is located in the control panel in the fridge.

Sounds like a blockage in the condensor by not cleaning regular take it out and reach to back and make sure the hole down to float chambers is not blocked with fluff, if this gets blocked it will still make condensate but not fill bottle and leak all over floor.

    Re: Really smart tumble dryers?

Some sensor dryers use thermistors in the exhaust the air intake and at the heater they determine when the the load is dry as the exhaust gets hotter they are oviously dryer, others work on the conductifity method as a load drys the resistance gets higher hence the contorls know how dry, only drawback with this if you want to dry a small load the most off the airflow misses the load causing the sensors to dry out resulting in load not drying.

If the evaporator is frozen solid it will probl’y be defrost heaters i’ve changed a few for this could also be defrost timer located in fridge, more inclined to go the heater route though.
