ParticipantGood evening,
Customer agreed to heater renewal, as not hugely more expensive than the rear ntc, so replaced, and all fine.
Many thanks again,

ParticipantThank you for your speedy response…
Well, looks like it may well be rear ntc, which may have blown when belt snapped.
I’ll investigate further.
Many thanksjontymox
ParticipantWell, without refitting the faulty inverter/power module, I can only surmise that it blew said fuse when it failed….
jontymox
ParticipantSuccess!
Fuse in Module had blown – Fitted a 10 Amp fuse to test, and all well.
Markings on original ESKA fuse M 8/250 G and I wonder if 8 refers to 8 Amps?
Thanks again to all feedback, and help.jonty

ParticipantWell, my customer asked me to continue and I managed to quickly obtain a inverter/power module, which I have just fitted.
Alas, the fault remains…
I can hear a relay on the module-relay board clicking on and off as expected, and now wonder if that is the cause, although Bosch would like £100.00 for this?

ParticipantAlas, I’ve renewed the magnetron, and the fault remains…
There is clear cracking/damage to the magnets in the above, so I wonder if the mag’ has also damaged the inverter/power module, which looks ok visually?
However, Bosch ask nearly £200.00 for the above, which I’m sure can also be obtained cheaper.
So, I’ll contact customer and explain…

ParticipantJust to confirm the number on the unit is 2M261-M32 which is in stock at Connect.
jontyjontymox
ParticipantLooks like a faulty magnetron.
However, Qualtex only show the original Bosch 642266 item, with no alternative.
Wondering if the Panasonic 2M236M42E2 is compatible, as suggested, as it is also a good price and in stock at Qualtex?

ParticipantThanks for your quick reply Merv,
Will have chance to have a look this p.m.
I’m aware about the extremely high voltage in the magnetron etc, and wonder if I can discharge it, or if a special tool is required?

Participantp.s. customer also said Tap/Drain light flashes/illuminates when fault occurs…. which probably relates to all sorts of possibilities!

ParticipantGood afternoon chaps,
Replaced the board on Saturday morning, and all ok. (thankfully not a wiring harness or other fault)
Many thanks,jonty
jontymox
ParticipantThanks for your help gents,
No, I didn’t have time to visually check the board.
However, I’m pretty sure there’s no clicking from the relay…
Will return and test further.
Thanks again.jontymox
Participantp.s. I did check the motor brushes, and the wiring to and from the motor but had to get to another job!
