Proved to be a fault in the electronic control unit.

    Renewed, and all well.

Thank you so much for your sensible advice.

I’ll remember the thermostat deviation for future reference.

    Thanks again,

    Re: Hoover DYN9164DPG 3100500913183080 Error: E08

    Well,

I carried out the test procedure… thanks Simon, which confirmed error code E08,(defective tachometric dynamo, wiring or electronic control module!) so visually inspected the motor, tacho, wiring and ecm.

All looked fine, so took a gamble and replaced the motor.

Re-tested on a wash programme, and all well for around 40 minutes until error code E08 returned.

Hence, I’m struggling to diagnose this fault… do these codes need cancelling via the diagnostic link in the ecm, and is there any way of testing the small module below the main ecm?

I’m wary of replacing the ecm, if it is not at fault.

    Thank you so much simon26r,

Will carry out test procedure in the next couple of days.

    Good afternoon,

I can only locate two toc’s which are both fine, so struggling to locate fault with this one.

    Thanks Jem,

Will try and locate thermal fuse.

The only one I noticed last week was a TOC which is fine.

    Thanks you Dave,

    Now re-connected!

However, I’m still struggling with a couple of obscure problems.

The fan oven fan doesn’t work, nor heat, which I suspected was due to a “dead” timer.

I renewed the timer, which remained “dead” and re-checked the wiring to and from it… all ok.

    Am I overlooking something?

Plus, both upper and lower left hand hob plates are not working, and both appear fine, and give good insulation readings.

I’m unfamiliar with range ovens, but have checked the switches and wiring to the non working hob plates.

    Any help much appreciated!

Re: SMEG DI6 FABP (0102008741) Dishwasher Problem

    Hello again,

Yes, I’m surprised that the customer has continued with the expensive repairs too.

All fine now… the wash pump originally ran for around 30 minutes, before becoming noisy and breaking down… left to cool down, all well, until failing again after 20-30 minutes.

I suspect the above has been the underlying fault, and damaged the ecu.

    Regards,

    Jon

Renewed the wash pump/motor, and all well apart from water trickling through small lower condenser pipe onto base cover when drying.

Does this suggest a blockage, as I’ve not come across this before?

    Good afternoon,

Above TOC fine, and further tests revealed Error Code: TE3

This relates to temp’ thermistor, and related wiring, which I’ve checked and found to be good.

    Therefore, suspect electronic control module.

    Good afternoon,

Replaced electronic control module, and all well for around 30 minutes.

Then, wash pump noisy/fails… so suspect this has damaged the original module.

    Kind regards,

Re: SMEG DI6 FABP (0102008741) Dishwasher Problem

    Good morning,

Wiring connection is fine, (keyed 4 way multi-plug) and no sign of water leakage.

Inspected ecu visually, and it appears fine although could well be the underlying problem.

Not sure whether to order a new ecu, as it’s v expensive and probably non-returnable, but customer wants problem fixing regardless… back to the drawing board.

I’ve replaced the diverter/valve assembly, and run the m/c.

    Unfortunately, the same problem remains.

    Wondering if it needs re-programming?
