Is the door locking and the light not coming on?or the door not locking at all.
If it is the former it will be something to do with the motor circuit, broken wire more likely than brushes at this age.
If it doesn.t lock at all then could be pcb,you could always get an idea off one of the mods regarding price or………..
    I will whisper this bit
Get indesit out to it for a hundred quid all in.

Yey bring it on let the pasta barons bollocks up Bosch now!!!!!
I suppose it is too much to hope that Bosch take on Indesit rather than the other way round,if only to get rid of the management structre that is running sorry ruining this company.

You could refer her back but i would be suprised if they would come out for nowt.
Weights come slack on these and the belt can cause some noise, pump also prone to a bit of chugging.

There is a kitchen fitter round my way who installs all integrated appliances on a piece of worktop or mdf sledge. They are also fit with a seperate plinth, these things come out easier than most freestanding appliances!
If he wasn,t such an ugly git I could kiss him.

    Behind the console panel.!
    Power off and plug out.
    Top off (machine)
Remove dispenser drawer and you will see 3 screws, remove these and the console is now loose.
Make a note of where all wiring goes before you unplug anything.
Release the pcb from the plastic clips and if helo is right(which i am sure he is)you will see one of the trace circuits on the board has blown.

Imagine how bad you would have felt as you plumbed in your new £300 washer and found that button in the pipe. 😳

I know this is not ideal, but Indesit are seeking a franchise in the south cumbria/Barrow area.If anyone is really desperate it might see them out of a bad patch.

    Re: best toolboxes?

I had one of thse CK cases but the zips broke after about 6 months(probably something to do with all the tools in it!)
I have got a Dewalt bag £30 from B&Q and it is brilliant big enough for all your gear and you can throw parts in as well, big comfy shoulder strap as well.
Deltra if you are stuck on cases drop me a pm as I have an old Hotpoint one sitting in the garage you could have..

    Re: Hotpoint WD420 dryer problem

Try changing the wash heater thermistor and the heater box thermistor first.
The thermistor on the wash heater controls the dryer as well.
    (if I remember right)

Yes there is a seperate pump and it will either be blocked or has failed altogether, they are not a bad job to change, though can be a bit pricey.

    Re: Indesit franchise

The prices are exactly the same they have not gone up.
My advise is DO NOT DO IT!!!!!! When things go quiet in whatever area you are in they will turn off the tap immediately and you will be left with no work!!
The only guys I know who are doing alright by it are blokes employing 4/or more engineers as I think the rates are higher then.
