Ring Indesit and specify that you do not want the same engineer back(they will have a record)next ask them to send a senior engineer or Technician to remedy your problem, if it is the board and i suspect it is you will not be charged as all repairs carry a 12 months warranty.
I would like to apologise for my colleagues cavalier attitude to your problem and hope that you reach an end to your problem shortly.

I dont know why you would want one I have found this and Washdoctor a waste of time.If you have anything down to earth at all then it will tell the bloody thing a different fault,ie fill valve faulty when its your wash heater down to earth.
I rely on knowledge and my megger.

I just use bent nose pliers.
One thing i do thoughis take th back panel off and it allows for the drum to fall further back when you tilt the machine back and gives you a bit more room.
As Johhny says rather than trying to force the band together when the hooks are close swivel the pliers so it lifts one of the hooks.
Oh and a bit of fairy liquid doesnt go amiss either.
    Good luck.

Re: Door wont open after fusing Hotpoint wd420

You can open them from the inside, there is a little locking tab on the back of the door interlock that you can push in and it will open, but im more worried about this blue wire you have found. Some of those machines have test plugs in them that are intentionally not connected.
I would call someone in if i were you…..

    Power off before touching anything.

    Re: Cannon 10400g , 10401g how different?

Its not a question of contradicting you its a question of giving someone the correct information. The difference is in the materials ,different seals, diaghphragms etc and the obvious one is a different part number.

Of course if you know different.

    Re: Cannon 10400g , 10401g how different?

The thermostats would need changing as well and all the gas taps would need replacing, along with all the injectors,i woould reckon you are looking at about three hours work, because they are an awkward beast to strip down, two man job usually as the top is a bit on the heavy side.
I cant see there being much change out of four hundred quid, sorry mate she is going to have to cut her losses.
I for one would not touch it with a bargepole, this is not a manufacturer approved conversion and as such breaks a few of the gas regs ie modifying gas appliances.
Fifty quid and i will pick it up if it is local 😉
As an aside to this i can never understand why people buy stuff so far in advance of them actually using it,whats the point of having a fifteen hundred quid cooker gathering dust while its warranty is wasting away.

    Re: Cannon 10400g , 10401g how different?

What they look like and what they are is two different things.
You cannot convert these models as the 10401 is a LPG model that has LPG jets and LPG ffd,s fitted to it.
I will give her fifty quid for it though. 😆

Strictly speaking its isnt an earth as it is connected to the earth via a filter,so i guess thats why it isnt green and yellow.

    Re: Hotpoint CTD00P Belt change?

Stretch the belt with your foot before fitting it.
    Remove the pulley wheel.
You can then fit belt and using a bit of effort(and gloves) get the wheel back on.

There is a new inner drum which will cure the scraping, also fit V4 shaft kit with white seal for front bearing and it will close gap up a bit more on the front.
