First I have heard of it!!!!We use Branch Direct at the moment and I usually get my spares in the afternoon.
We did have a dalliance with overnight deliveries but clumsy gits dropping drum supports on your drive at 4 in the morning caused too many complaints and they stopped it.kiddo66
ParticipantRe: Indesit-Hotpoint/D&G how do I get them to work
I have stated this on here before,I have no beef with any engineer at all wether self employed, comet employed or otherwise.
I have also tried to enlighten you of the structure within Indesit as regards exchanges but it appears to fall on deaf ears.
Indesit engineers have NO DIRECT CONTACT WITH D&G.
They wil not deal with us mere engineers it has to be done by our exchange team in Peterborough and it is up to them to decide if the machine is exchanged,in the case of an obsolete part the exchange team will try to source it from elsewhere to avoid an exchange.
Again I will point out that Indesit are paid up front from D&G at the start of the financial year so they could not care less how many repairs are carried out on a machine as it is not costing them anymore, this also explains why the last thing Indesit want to do is exchange a machine as any money left in the pot at the end of the year goes back into Indesits substatial profits…
Crap for customers I know but hey thats capitalism for you!
Unfortunately this doesnt help the poster but I hope it clears up a point or two.kiddo66

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF 860, strange problem
I tend to try them with the board on some insulated material and try pushing the microswitch with a screwdriver.
But not if my bosses are reading this.kiddo66
ParticipantRe: Hpt WD420
Door locking but the light not coming on is usually brushes or broken wire on motor plug.

andy_art_trigg wrote:I haven’t had a chance to read every single post on this thread but has anyone asked the question why Hotpoint have all of the sudden offered to repair any of their appliances under their five-year guarantee no matter how old? Why would they suddenly do this? Are they struggling for money or desperate for work for their engineers?
They want everybody to pay up front for the repairs now, this was one of the reasons cited for the fixed pricing.
You wouldnt give your credit card details for a repair if you didnt know exactly how much they were taking out of your account.kiddo66
ParticipantRe: what do you think of this machine !
I,m Indesit employed too,I have seen few and far between of these.
Couple of module faults and one door seal,a knackered drum because of a key and thats about it.kiddo66
ParticipantRe: Indesit condensor t/d motor humming
Is it definately the motor humming and not the door interlock buzzing because the locator pin is either missing or bent?

ParticipantRe: Tea for two……..not on your Nelly!
While I was diagnosing a fault on a machine the customer was making me a cuppa,I stood up just as she was about to hand it to me and told her that I would have to order a new drum”well you wont want this then will you” she said and poured my coffee down the sink 😯

Ask her politely not to smoke in front of you!!!Failing that tell her that there is a danger of chemicals being released into the atmosphere and fart in her face!

ParticipantRe: Fuel Prices
If you are on diesel why not have a go at recycling food oil and make your own,I am sure most chippys will be only too happy to give it away. From what I can gather it costs pennies to make and dependent on use I dont think you need to pay duty on it.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD440
Did you change both thermistors as the wash thermistor can play a part in faults with these washers.
