KeymasterYeah, I’d agree as I’ve worked with Servevast for a few years with no issues at all really other than the odd part that’s taken a while from Italy. Even that’s very rare indeed these days.
Most of the guys that do Smeg repairs here do not have any issues at all with the appliances and if they do they are quickly resolved by Smeg or Servevast.
You can get Servevast on 0870 444 7002 and they will help you.

KeymasterRe: Site News & Updates
I happened to notice this morning that UKW (.co.uk) now ranks 6/10 in the Google page ranks which is excellent news and generally means we get an even higher placement on searches. 😀
Even some of the lesser pages now rank 4/10 etc! 😯
All good news, on top of good news…
Our Alexa ranking was sent to me yesterday by a friend (I rarely check these things) and it shows up some pretty startling results for UKW, you can see the information here;
http://www.alexa.com/data/details?url=u … oods.co.uk
Apart from that I would like to say that what I’d hoped would happen with UKW and the forums on the public side has happened. You guys (and gals) are freely offering help and very sensible and balanced advice to members of the public on their appliances and associated queries and I really think you ought to give yourselves a pat on the back. This shows a great image for our industry as a whole and, a very positive one, to the public and the manufacturers etc. who should, IMO, be very pleased with the level of proffessionalism displayed by you all.
Long may it continue.

KeymasterIf it’s a pump blockage tripletman it should be fairly simple to resolve, check the filter as well if there is one as that could possibly throw up the error as well.
Other than that if you’re unsure I’d recommend that you call in someone that knows the appliance.

KeymasterOr if you’re even smarter, in a pinch the Candy fan element fits as well but no studs on that. 😉

KeymasterYep ISDAL have handled it very well indeed and I have to commend the way that it has been done.
I know who has it now but I’ve not been given the okay to say anything, so I won’t for now. You’ll find out soon enough anyway.

Keymaster811730125 is the part number for the Smeg and it’s list price is £21.60 ex VAT retail.
Dave can do the other one, I hate that Homark disc. 😆

KeymasterYep, pile ‘o’ C*** IMO. 😉
But anyway, the door weight can also be a problem here, if the door is too heavy it will pull the door open with the slightest nudge. Not only that continual use of one with a lumping great formed door on it actually bent the cabinet where the hinges insert to, not repairable.
Seen two do that now.

KeymasterThat’ll be a Brandt in disguise is it not?
If so I’ll add to that. 😉

KeymasterRe: Lovely new Hygena freestanding dishwashers!
It’s Carboran BTW Penguin. 😉 They used an elephant as their log as well IIRC.
Here’s what I was told and how it happened at the launch of the Nexus range of appliances…
My old man and I were invited to the launch of the new range (primarily for retailers) at the time when this was launched and on display Zanussi had the obligatory clear case machine to show the insides. Immediately the old boy spotted that the bolts faced the wrong way and that the split cabinet had the springs mounted in the wrong place, so of course we asked why.
We were told that the springs were on the rear half of the cabinet due to the fact that it would have meant that the front casing would have to have been made more rigid, therefore more steel, therefore more cost to build.
The tub bolts go from front to rear as that’s the way that they pass on the production line, to change that would have meant re-tooling the production line at a substantial cost.
But these factors were okay because they’d tested them thoroughly and there was no chance of bearing failure till at least three years old and that the rear half would be cheap and easy to replace as a unit. Zanussi’s Italian boys reckoned a rear tank could be changed inside 45 minutes, obviously they don’t have Wimpey buliding houses there. 😉
We were also told that they expected a less than 3{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} failure rate in the first twelve months.
Make up your own mind on whether the information given was correct or not.

KeymasterOkay, further to discussions tonight we look set for the weekend of the 27/28 August or the following weekend of 3/4 September, it all comes down to what the hotel has available for each weekend. Well Friday/Saturday really, not so much a weekend I guess.
The reason for the dates is that by then almost all the holidays are finished and the schools are back in session which should make it easier on those with children of that age.
By tomorrow the same email address for all things meeting related should be in play to Sean who is chief organiser this time around for the meeting event.
The mail address is meeting@ukwhitegoods.com
As last time I would ask that you let us know as quickly as possible if you intend to attend (poetic ;)) so we can get a decent room rate etc.
Thanks for the feedback thus far, keep it coming whether it’s positive or negative as we really want to try to tailor the meeting to suit everyone as much as we possibly can. Any and all suggestions are welcomed, including items that you want on the agenda for discussion.

KeymasterRe: UKW Network Ideas Thread
More thoughts…
How do we protect the agents areas etc.? Can we, should we?
Shares!
Shares will be offered up front with a 12 month defferment on payment then an installment plan for 12 months to enable as many as possible to sign on. At the 12 months they have the option to opt out if it’s not working for them. So no excuse not to try it as there’s nothing to be lost and everything to be gained.
Shares will be offered to UKW Subscribers with a 7 day lead on the rest of the industry.
Anyone signing up after we go live loses the opportunity of the 12 month defferment on payment but retains the option to spread the payment over 12 months.
Anyone with no engineers or more than 30 engineers does not have either of these options open to them, giving the indpendents the first and best bite at the cherry. But, it still leaves it open to others in the industry so we cannot be accussed of shutting them out of the endevour.
Does all that seem reasonable, fair and honest to you guys?
I need to write all this shit down or I’d forget it! 😕
