KeymasterRe: vat
I didn’t know about that one, my accountant described something different but then I’d be over that turnover anyways so it wouldn’t apply.

It’s a very simple oven so it’s not that hard and if you read the forum rules you’ll understand why we can’t publish wiring schematics.
Normally on those switches you’ll physically see the problem, burnt terminals often welded together will be the problem.
And, there’s only that, a stat or two and a fan motor, not much to go wrong or check.

So far as I can tell that’s a Midea made thing so, these should apply…

I think they’re all the same pretty much other than colour and some other bits and bobs and, if there’s just the stat controlling it the only thing I can see that could be an issue os the changeover switch or function switch.
If the terminals are shorted together that may well be the problem and why replacing the stat would have zero effect.
The switch is behind the facia, left side and is this one:

There’s three versions of it, X, XR and XL.
Can you tell us which on or the product code?

KeymasterRe: Miele WT 945 Washer Dryer not clearing conditioner
Most common reasons for that are here:

Other than that it’s likely a valve or diverter failure if there’s one fitted to that machine.

No on a dryer that old all you’ll have is thermostats, no sensor I wouldn’t think.
At a guess, I’d reckon the timer was fragged and I’d be surprised if it were available.

KeymasterRe: vat
No, you don’t lose anything.
You charge the additional tax so in effect your prices would increase.
Or, you choose not to increase your charges and suffer the cost of the tax.
Let me put it like this…
If now you charged £40 and you went VAT registered you would then charge £40 plus VAT, which is £48, the 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} VAT is added.
That £8 is HMRC’s money, not yours and not anyone else’s. So, when it comes to the end of your VAT period you need to pay HMRC that £8.
You’re still getting paid you £40 no differently other than the additional tax.
What you will do is increase your admin and/or accountancy costs to comply with all the VAT stuff.
Flat rate is just another way to pay VAT. Rather than submitting monthly or more commonly quarterly, (IIRC) you pay a flat fee per month based on anticipated levels of VAT that would be due to HMRC then, at the end of the year period, it gets totted up and you pay them what you owe or they pay you what they owe you if you’ve overpaid.
The amount of tax doesn’t alter.

machineman wrote:but surely we are going to loose out by charging vat to customers
Nope.
Customer pays 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} in Value Added Tax on your base (tax exclusive) invoice.
You pay that 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} to HMRC. Less what you claim back of course in inbound VAT.
All it means is that you’re an unpaid tax collector, no more and no less.
However the point Steve makes about being more competitive if you are not VAT registered is a very valid one where you provide services, goods not so much as you’d still pay the VAT on them yet not be able to claim that VAT element back. Depends on the business though.
That’s why when setting up Amica etc and with others I’ve been involved in using free parts supplies is far easier when you are dealing with non-VAT businesses but, that’s just my opinion borne of my own experiences.
I’d suspect it’s the parts bit that’s a problem most likely as then CDSL will be paying VAT on the outbound invoice but unable to claim it back on the inbound from a non-VAT registered business.
All a bit of a guess though as I don’t know the system they use as I never worked for them.

There should only be three terminals plus earth so it shouldn’t be hard to work out.

I don’t know the cooker but, usually they just pull out from the rear. You might need to cut the insulation to allow it to be removed but, it should come out that way.
If it’s the indicator neon on the facia that you mean, they’re often a pain as you need to get to the back of the facia so, hob top lifted to get to it.

Sadly, as those are exclusive to Currys, I doubt anyone has access to parts info for them other than Currys themselves.
