    Re: A quarter century

I have sold two so far by just talking about them when repairing other appliances ,the friday before we went on holiday we had a phone call from a customer whose de deitrich dw I repaired a month ago,Her bosch washing machine had flashed from underneath it was 6 years old so she didnt want to spend much on it so when could I deliver one of those machines I was talking about last time I was there.
she had a new machine del, inst ,connected and demonstrated within two hours I quote ” I would like to see curry’s give me service like that !”

and the other against a hpt wma with bearing failure ( I talked about the ISE when I fixed her Hpt DW)
    they do really sell themselves

    REPORTED FAULT
Doors not closing or sealing correctly.

Do not order doors! (Unless damaged)

It has been proven from field returns of product exchanges to Italy, that the fault of poor sealing
of doors and poor performance is directly related to the installation of the product on delivery
when not correctly leveled. In particular FAB28 models!
    Fault
If poorly installed on an uneven floor the cabinet will twist, as it is loaded and comes down to
temperature. As this happens to the cabinet and not to the door, a situation develops where the
door is noticeably not sealing as the cabinet slowly settles over square.
Correction of the cabinet itself to level, while loaded and at low temperature, will not correct the
fault as the cabinet remains in its deformed shape. Despite the feet being altered while the door
    is still square.
    Solution
Any appliance showing these symptoms should first have the customer made aware of the likely
fault with the appliance . And that the method of correction will require the appliance to be fully
unloaded, defrosted and returned to room temperature before the leveling correction process is
    undertaken.
    Action
The appliance should be leveled with the wind down foot adjustment at the front and rear.
(If the appliance is a later model they can be fitted with two rollers at the back) if necessary
to obtain a good level and square appliance on a poor floor the feet or rollers can be removed
providing it does not offer damage to the flooring .

The door seals may well have been compressed during this fault and should be persuaded back
into their original shape with warm water and / or a hair dryer, and gently pulling them in the direction required
starting first at the outer door edge.
It is essential that the cabinet sits on a firm and level surface as is said in the user instruction book.
The new technology in production of the doors makes twisted doors most unlikely!
