Dear Lawrence
Thank you for your enquiry and I apologise for the delay in replying. I agree that you should not be going up any blind alleys and we can assist you with that.
I have looked at your code and my immediate concern is whether your association has the resources to effectively run the code to the levels required under our scheme.
A code that gains OFT approval is required to monitor its members and also the effectiveness of the code. This usually includes auditing of members, conducting mystery shopping exercises and obtaining a significant amount of customer satisfaction information. For most associations this equates to at least a part time employee and in the bigger codes considerably more resource. You may have ideas about how this could be achieved that we are willing to consider.
Before we go in to any detail on the nuts and bolts of the code, could you provide me with an indication of the resources available to your association and how you envisage effective monitoring would be accomplished. I apologise if you have provided this information to Atonye (who is not currently with the OFT) but I can’t find it in our records.
This is key to achieving code approval and there would be little point in applying for approval if the association could not resource the checks that need to be done.
If you wish we can discuss this on the phone.
Yours sincerely
Charles Wallace

I don’t mind doing the MC bit ,Ian and I were talking yesterday re guests .
The agenda depends on whose arms we can twist .
I think we should use the other rooms for the trade tables etc that way people can come in and out as they need .
It doesnt look like th COP will be ratified by then ,I am going to hassle Brian cresswell next week which should give us a rabbit to pull out of the hat .
The one thing that did seem to happen was that there was alot of networking going on which people seemed to enjoy .
Some thoughts
Will John be there ?
Is this one hosted by the WTA or UKW
who do we want there
I am interviewing an engineer next week which looks promising so I should have a bit more time soonLawrence

Hi
More and more of my work is letting agents and housing associations ,in my experience they want no aggro .
I have just gained a very lucrative deal because the guy they were using wouldnt call afer 5pm and wouldnt supply new machines if required .
They also want to be kept in the loop so we ask them to send over a works order that we reply to immediately ,then when the tenant is booked ,and finally when job is done ,informaation overload but they love it .
