Yeah, maybe the heat of a 70 wash expands it enough so it doesn’t rub. Should wear itself in given a little time. If there’s kids around they won’t hear it anyway.

Seme do some fans which look more like computer fans (and I don’t want to sound like MikeinHorwich) but they’re reputed to be for refrigeration. At around £6 each it might be worth a look. You’ll need an acount though. Or maybe give ’em a ring on 0870 850 8501.

I think it is. At Masterpart the stat kit costs as much as the element.

Is it a washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer or something else?

Would suit me fine. I work it so I do 2 days with 3/5 jobs each, 3 days out in the sunshine, pottering around home, or pontificating on here. Don’t worry, work’ll soon pick up when they learn there’s no scrappage benefit on washing machines 😆 .

😕 ❓
I think they get a bad press on here which is not wholly deserved. Anyway, to have an account doesn’t mean you have to buy any spares except when you want to. True, in the early days, you’ll get a few “helpful” calls trying to drum up some business but they’ll soon learn what’s what and that such calls don’t work on you 😉 .

Well, that’s interesting. I used to work a bit like that. Now, I don’t rush out for anything. If they want the job done pronto, pronto, I tell them I’m sorry but I don’t have any time till next Tuesday. They sometimes say they just can’t possibly wait until then so, if they sound really, really nice I say I just might be able to squeeze them in late Monday. If that’s no good, then I say I do hope they find someone who can sort it for them soon.
Or, if it’s a bloke or a sassy woman I remind her about checking the filter etc. or whatever else may be appropriate. They go away and do that and come back a couple of days later when I am more in the mood for some work.

As far as I can gather, this one is Empire made 😆 .
I would give the problem to Connect via a Part Number Enquiy.
I have always found they do their best and they must have access to a whole lot more info than most of us. You have to remember to check for answers when you visit their site though, as you won’t get an e-mail. With an enquiry like this one, I’d wait three days before checking.

I think you’re bound to do a more thorough job when bringing it back to the workshop. However, as we all know, work expands to fill the time available. If you had done this one in the customer’s kitchen, you’d not have worried about the minor noise and I doubt that they would, as long as it worked. Just tell ’em you need a nice bit of space to work in, and that they should keep out of the way so that you can give the work all your attention. If it’s sunny, drag the machine out to the back yard.

Connect do a straight pattern alternative to 6221960 for £11.11 (to me, and I’m not particularly favoured). Part no. is MTR7708.

ParticipantRe: Indy WE16S mark3 board. Which is heater relay?
It’s gone back in this afternoon with a new RL1 and (fingers crossed) seems OK.
Had some behind the scenes communication with Andy2, who kindly pointed me toheater relay
and also something very helpful in my inbox from Jim.

ParticipantRe: aeg dishwasher keeps washing
Is it the sort of relay where you can either see the contacts through a clear cover or get access to them by popping the cover off?
I’d say it was worth close investigation if not yet done.
Mike.
(Just, I hope, fixed a Merloni F08 where the relay checked out fine on test but had half burnt contacts inside; so it’s my favourite fault at the mo.). -
