Dec 09 a major manufacturer begining with the letter B had all there Engineers at the annual meet and xmas do, they were all pulled up on the severe lack of safety testing following customer survey, most admitted they did not no how to safety check.

They were issued instructions and warned.

I thought all repairs to appliances had to be safety checked.

Why do all the big boys.

Having said that the Electrolux DATES course was funny, had to demo how to wire a plug. :rolls:

If you do something dangerous and somebody gets killed arn`t we liable. 😉

Isn`t it now part of the law that all appliances are safety checked including insulation test, Earth loop impedance and earth continuity.

Your local HSE, trading standards and Public liability won`t be happy if one of your clients gets a death.

    Re: wasted callouts

My time waste today was actually home.

I get a call Bosch Dw no drain, so I call and yup not draining.

Pull out and find cover at rear removed, check hoses, no blockages etc.

Go inside cavity, remove filters etc and find the pump impellor exposed.

I ask for the cover as the pump is no making a fountain out of a mole hill 😆

Oh, we had somebody out a few weeks ago to unblock it, I think he put it back, would it have worked without it as its been fine for a few weeks.

No it won`t, did you remove it.

    I don`t think so.

Ok well the pump is not damaged and is turning, it won`t drain until the cover is on, so I`ll charge you my call out and time and if you find cover just click it back or if you cannot find it, let me know and I`ll order you one.

There reply why do I have to pay then if its only the cover :rolls:

Sometimes I wished they wouldn`t phone me.

Why they never called the other guys back I don`t know, but I guess they broke the cover anyway and the pressure flew it off, Mr Husband decided the last guys charged too much for unblocking it and decided to do it himself, thought the plastic piece was the problem and threw it away.

    The numpty.

    Re: Bosch quality bearings!

There is a trick I learn in Spain for jamned Bosch Circulation pumps.

Its usually down to hard water etc.

Instead of removing all the motor etc.

Get a 14mf Capacitor, wire it on and run for a second or two, it`ll free the motor and you won`t have any other issue.

Unless the motor is blocked by something or the seal is fcuked.

I told me after I kept replacing seal kits as the area was high in calcium

Re: Beko WMA10 – Am I missing something???

Knowing Beko customers there probably feed up with the piece of crap and want it exchanged if its in warranty and if its out of warranty they want cash back. 😥

Tell them you`ve checked and found the machine to be ok, put a report in writting and if there still unhappy tell them to send the clothes to an independent lab for inspection and have an independent inspection of the appliance.

    Or fcuk off.

Re: Beko WMA10 – Am I missing something???

Damage to clothes is not always by mechanical means.

Many hair products can cause fibers to come away when washed in a machine.

Did you check the labels, I had many calls to damaged items that when checked had Hand Wash Only on the labels.

Once out of 8 damaged Items 7 were hand wash only and the 9th was so old the label info was gone. :rolls:

I used to have a list of products and pictures, but it got lost on a damaged laptop. 😥

A high percentage of damage is usually caused by other factors.

But this one really piss me off.

I once priced an element for a Baumatic oven, they wanted £48.00 for it. :rolls:

I get them trade for £6.99, at least there expensive, but are they busy. 😯

    Re: 0800 Repair

I`m sure that in the contract it covers 0800 if no work is around and no liability to fund your debt.

Then your £25,000 is your problem and the owners of 0800 go and live on your cash, on some sunny beach.

Imagine you lose everything, even the silly little van gets taken by the bailiffs.

    That would be sad. 😆

I`d invest in a well known franchise, thats been around for yrs.

These guys haven`t even filled accounts in Companies house yet. :rolls:

    Re: Bosch F/F Door Seal

Had a call this evening 6.15pm, so you know there hassle.

I have a Kenwood range cooker, cooling fan don`t work, but we still using it, now the main fan oven not working, how much will it cost ?

I don`t know without looking at it (I know by a guess, but hey, why give them answers).

It`ll cost X amount to call and diagnose, gives you 30 minutes labour time, most jobs usually under X amount I say.

Oh, don`t you give free estimates ?

I just did was my reply.

You haven`t called to see it.

I no, but if you pay my fee I will.

What if you call and tell us the part, we can then buy it.

    Yes we can fit it.

    How much.

The price I quoted was our labour charge plus parts, so with no parts we charge the labour I quoted.

Hardly rocket science now is it.

I hate these bloody web sites selling parts, there is even one large one with videos of how to replace the components. :rolls:

    Its becoming a joke.

And I bet (cant wait) for some numpty to get killed after following instructions from these people, even better if the house burns down.

With all the regulations we have to follow.
