    Re: Exploding Fridge

Wow that must have made a bang.

I notice the edges inside have turned yellow around the inner cavity splits.

Maybe a 600 system leak, gas built up in a cavity near a conductive source, inner wiring etc etc.

This could cause a small, bang.

I thought it might have been a ServiceForce appliance as there currently replacing dodgy fan motors nationwide. :rolls:

I treat every client the same, polite effective repair no matter age or IQ.

If it was me I wouldn`t refund any charge of the appliance and I`d be in court defending my position.

I once issued a Small Claim for £14.00, why, becuase of his attitude.

His attitude didn`t gain much respect with the Judge either, as he tried it on in the court. :rolls:

These kinds of idiots cannot cope with the thought process required to deal with complicated matters.

They only respect one action and that is them wining.

Giving a refund may well get rid of some hassle, but they will still slag you off.

I would deliver her appliance back to the old lady along with a solicitors letter explaining the situation and what will happen.

Then the repaircare guys get made redundant and become independant repairers. :rolls:

    Sorry, one of those days.

Just had to help a client who whilst attempting to repair his Neff D/W didn`t realise he`d placed the pressure stat terminals in the wrong location.

And then moaned about the charge. 😥

    Chris.

    I will do.

My experience is if you have too much work, employing a person rarely helps the situation.

In all the years I`ve been in the industry its never had a steady reliable income.

I know many who overstrecthed there staff needs and struggled.

By the time you`ve paid the wage, the tools, vehicle and etc what you make at the end wouldn`t have been much more than you`d lost turning it away.

    In my experience anyway.

I`m a great believer in what you pay relates to what you get out of it. 😉

I wouldn`t take the work if it wasn`t in my interest, I`m not the type of guy that will spend 3 hours trying to fix something and getting no where.

My business plan shows how much I need to be profitable, I fit work that provides that and each contract is calculated to be able to provide that.

    Thats a mistake many make.

    I’ve seen exactly this happen.

There are ways around it. 😉

Don`t get me wrong, i`m not suggesting anybody should work for free, but the rate of £30.00 in my business isn`t that bad.

Well if I can squeeze 2 calls an hour at £30.00 a pop, with my limited overheads, as I`m good at my job, i`d be OK.

Not as OK as £50.00 a call.

But far better than a company guy on £10.00 an hour. 😉

The rest, its a pity there allowed to vote. 😥

    Same as Rover.

I`m no fan of Gordon, he`s an amazing accountant, but ask anybody who has worked for companies run by former accounts, they all judge a business by the profit and loss, not by human effects.

Its not just the Italians, I`ve worked in Spain, there public only buy Spanish or what there led to believe anyway.

Thats why Balay owned by Bosch/Siemens sell Bosh appliances with Balay branding.

So the great British multi cultural society has some blame, they voted Labour in the first place. :rolls:

Not if you make a loss on it.

    That must take some doin.

I guess my overheads are lower than others.

Although I`d be Ok at £30.00 a call, wouldn`t be a loss, not a huge profit either.

But then again if I was a talented business brain, I`d be in a different industry. 😥

At least with Jobseekers you don’t get further in debt. 😉

    K.

At around a hundred a week payment, how would you cover your bills/mortgage payments.

The govt apparantly deems £100 a week is sufficent for a family to live on.

Times are getting tough, there all lookin to desperate engineers to fill the gap.

I guess everybody posting on here commenting on the lack of work only encourages the situation further.

After all £30 a call is better than the Jobseekers Allowance. 😉

    Re: Using my name

It is always wise to open a business similar name or location to another.

That way you use there advertising budget. 😆

You`ll notice Currys near Comets, B&Q near Wickes and ASDA near Tesco.

Car new/used sellers is a prime example. As are hairdressers, mobile phone shops etc etc.

I`d wouldn`t worry too much, as the other poster stated, ask nicely to have your details passed when mistaken calls are recieved.

It can be done without moving the m/c.

I never give customers part no`s, just the prices.

Always charge a callout, it gets rid of time wasters.

Too much info can be dangerous.

Beyond Usted Cuel es la problema con la lavadora, senora, I need help.

Good experience in a strange culture. 😆
