You don’t need to do that, there are enough incidents, although they don’t make the main media, to a newspaper its nothing new and frankly most brands have enough money to ensure the subject wouldn’t sell enough to justify the legal implications.
Electrolux group spring to mind as being one of the brands to suffer a lot of fire incidents.

I have to say modifications due to potential product failure is suffered by all brands.
If I sent my laptop off too watchdog they would have enough material to fill a program every week for the next few months.
Besides what 2 products destroyed out of how many million sold.
BSH got a mod on an American style F/F that could potentially cause a fire, should we inform Watchdog on them too.

Not a shock as such but today client walked past, kicked my platform step, which hit the cupboard door into my head as I was removing my head from the cupboard, resulting in a small cut and brush near my eye.
All so he could make a cup of bloody tea.
I swear clients wait to do jobs around me when we arrive on purpose.

ParticipantRe: Watchdog bait and switch scam
It would be nice one day if people took back responsibility for their actions, authority/regulation to disappear back into the back round.
After all thinking on ones toes becomes easier the more you do it as opposed to complaining to officials more interested in promoting new regs than enforcing the regulation all ready in place.
Watchdog is a prime example of how regulation simply does not work.
It promotes the very few scammer’s around as being a far bigger problem than it actually is for no other reason than TV time, yet every week there is another scam and next year the scam from the previous year is still active.
The amount of clients I seem to call on that have lost the ability to think and act is incredible, this week a cooker hood installed by Sigma 3, not at all level, the tiler grouted it to the tiles all completely oblivious to the fact it looked stupid and now nobody willing to change it free, yet they charged stupid money for the pleasure.
Its a mad world getting worse because simply people are stupid. :rolls:

ParticipantRe: BRITISH GAS – Interview
Never worked for them, have spoke to peeps who have though, I won’t share as its as much to do with individual personality than just the company, lets just say you are not allowed to think beyond the British Gas book of rules and you will be told what to do and it may not be to every persons liking.
The online test should have given you some “signals” as too the expectations.
Good luck with the interview, in the current climate a regular income may make up for it.

Its a common problem and so easy to turn around, egos rule and tough nuts to crack, even when they lose their still winners :rolls:

I offered them £31 😆
When a shark gives you an offer you cannot refuse, best not to ignore them, Small fry in a big ocean just about sums it up.

ParticipantRe: Comet Repairs
Its judged on each call, has been for decades in this industry, if in doubt don’t do it.
Even if your self employed it’ll cost you to put any damage right.
I have known a cupboard scratch cause all the fronts to be replaced, to the clients requirements because the damaged door could not be matched as it was to old.

ParticipantRe: New Electrolux Washer (Chinese)
They are easy to repair and break down, so for repairers there great.

ParticipantRe: bbc watchdog
What is more scary than this guy is how many clients hand over cash to such a kanob.
This Am I’ve done a recall after a large company with a G and a D in their name called and diagnosed a faulty pressure switch and chamber and possible PCB.
The appliance leaks water from dispenser on final fill during rinse cycle.
Took me 3 seconds to clean out the blocked conditioner tube :rolls:
No further faults found with the appliance
I get around 4-5 jobs a month to independently inspect professional engineers work who obviously have no idea how to repair the product their paid to repair.
Its a lot more as well that don’t do Earth Loop and Insulation tests when it is their companies policy to test on every call, there is a huge amount of Double Insulated cooker hood entries on their paper work that are not double insulated and are earthed is a joke.
Scary.

ParticipantRe: Abusive Calls
Whats that saying “God must love idiots, why else would we have so many”.
I have come across people other than clients in this business getting abusive, everyone from Yell account managers who cannot calculate their own charges to contractors who could not fit a light bulb to WP’s who’s egos & IQ’s are as small as an ants penis .
No employee deserves to work in an environment of abuse from anybody and I have to say taking it from people other than clients is especially worse.
No excuses for that kind of behaviour.

ParticipantRe: Amica cooker doors coming unstuck
A certain group has oven’s who’s timer mounts are sliding down due to poor adhesive that does soft when hot. 😆
Has been sold to several well know brands. :rolls:
