What amazed me about the first WMA’s was somebody actually got paid to sign off that truly awful seal set up, how in their wildest dreams did they think it would last ?
Or maybe that was the point ❓ Came back to bite them on the arse though ‘cos loads failed within 12 months if i remember rightly 🙂

You called that one wrong then Martin! Although i agree with your sentiments, really couldnt be bothered either.
Good on you though Mark for sticking to your guns.. hope you get satisfaction 😉

    Re: speed awareness course

Afraid i have absolutely no sympathy for those caught seriously over an urban speed limit especially.
Its totally selfish & quite honestly i dont give a flying f*** what theyre rushing to get to.. get up Earlier!!

A quiet, dry Motorway where people are cruising at 80/90mph is one thing.. in fact most traffic cops dont bother you in such circumstances i’ve noticed, but making up your own limits in towns or villages simply isnt on IMO. 🙁
A friend of mine killed a 7 year old child when he was just 18. Car full of mates, showing off in a 30 limit.
I really dont think he’s ever got over it, even 24 years on.

gandh1 wrote:sorry for hte hijack bo/jim but just interested apart from diameter how much difference 5mm actually makes to the lifespan of them? is there any sort of mathematical equation that is used to dictate size of race used? sort of like how ohms law is used to determine cable diameter??

I guess its all about load v surface area gandh, the 6207/6206 combo in the 35mm kit will have an easier time dealing with a given pressure transmitted through the drum shaft than the 6206/6205 set up in the 30mm.
Its mainly about the front bearing i would think though.. imagine the sheer leverage on the thing on full spin 😯

Me too but have noticed the 30mm ones are very unforgiving of even a trace of play once back together 😯 Had one fail in under a month a while back :rolls:
Bearing lock fluid might help on some of them ❓

Very clever it must be said. The only bit i was suspicious of was near the end with the firing of the dart.
Slight gap in the continitnuity of filming… hmmm :hmm:

Brian is sunbathing on a nude beach in spain. Minding his manners and to avoid sunburn, he keeps a hat over his privates.
A woman walks past sniggering and says “If you were a gentleman you’d lift your hat”
Brian replies, “And if you were’nt so fekkin ugly it would lift itself”

Interesting idea Allsorts.. really all we would need to beat the Ba*tards is someone to produce a copy outer tub which screws together & has bearings & seal fitted.
A couple of mins with the angle grinder could split the old tub & free the drum for re-use.. assuming the spider was ok 😯
It might happen.. you never know.. (is that Hell i see freezing over?) :clown:

True enough Phidom, Electromotive force is another term for voltage (i think) but young funkyboogy’s getting excited about electromagnetic fields (i think) 😯

Its not just Hotpoint, I have written off a 26 month old Bosch and a 13 month old Whirlpool plus a couple of Zanussi machines in past few months, all with bearings failed in welded drums.

Yes, not only are they not economically viable to repair, they do seem to fail sooner than the average split tub from earlier times. 🙁
We’ve been over this before but why the hell are the government or Brussels not noticing this utterly wasteful profiteering by the whites manufacturers??
Joe public isnt allowed a traditional light bulb any more but Indesit, Electrolux & the rest can produce major appliances with 2 year lifespans 👿

Think i would find something else to worry about funkyboogy! The low frequency EMF given off by household appliances would be totally drowned by mobile phone transmissions, TV masts etc.
I think its only when you get to the tiny wavelength EMF like x rays that you’re in any danger, the microwave range from your mobile is what i’d be avoiding.. causes localized heating of the brain apparently :eeek:
