ParticipantRe: Which Report Recommends Beko!
Unfortunately they (Beko) seem to be fitting plastic welded drums to the entry level models now 😥 was at a WM5120 today removing a collection of objects from the pump & spotted a welded tub.
So thats just about every make i can think of now using these things :rolls: Was at a Zan 6kg machine on Monday, 18 months old, bought in the local co-op for £250, half inch of play in the bearings.Oh dear, is this the lifespan we’ve arrived at with white goods? Amusing to think we were all shocked when the design life of appliances started heading towards the 5 yr mark several years ago.. now that looks like a bloody good innings 😯

Was parked outside a customers house last Friday, removing obstruction from integrated dishwasher. Job went swimmingly but on returning to my charriot was greeted with the sight of the drivers door mirror in a thousand bits 👿
Not only that but he/she had hit it at such a speed it damaged the chrome trim strip at the base of the window.
I didnt hear a thing in the house & nor did my customer, drove around for half an hour looking for someone with a damaged N/S mirror on their car but no luck.My only solace was finding the remains of their mirror glass & noticing it was a heated unit.. i do hope it costs them a packet.
Hope i can get one in a breakers, but still got to get it painted unless i can find an exact match. Some people shouldnt be let loose on the roads 👿

ParticipantRe: Another joke.
Stevie Wonder plays a 3 hour concert in Tokyo. At the end he asks if there are any requests and a little Jap at the front shouts “Play a Jazz chord.” So Stevie plays 15 minutes of perfect Harlem Jazz.
Then the little Jap shouts again, “play a Jazz chord!!” so Stevie says “If you can do better then come up and have a go”.
So the little Jap sits at the piano, picks up the mic and sings at the top of his voice “I JAZZ CHORD TO SAY I RUV YOUUU”

Indesit group stuff does seem prone to this problem. Of course if caught early before the weight or drum is damaged then its an easy fix.
Says more about the attitude of customers towards their appliances these days though doesnt it.. ignore the racket, it still works, its 3 years old anyway :rolls:Madmac
ParticipantRe: customers rights ??
I guess the one advantage you guys still bravely running a traditional high street spares shop have over the internet operators is, you dont have to worry about that pesky bit of legislation that allows punters to return anything they decide they dont want within 7 days of receiving it.
Must be a right pain in the arse i would have thought, sending 20 items out & getting 5 back 😯

Only done one of those, for failed bearings if i remember rightly. Had to come out top, right PITA.
Lux have started fitting a new style tub to the more expensive large capacity machines i’ve noticed, joint forward of suspension, front of cabinet comes off for in situ bearing change.. probably ❓
Looks like a welcome return of common sense, anyone had one apart ❓ ❓March 23, 2010 at 11:00 am in reply to: best way get into zanussi wm tub w/ middle split body panel #315980Madmac

Removing doors & counterweights? 😯 Naa, i just do it upright, motor off certainly, then wiring, hoses & susp pins. Pop the springs up with a screwdriver & support by grabbing spring with other hand.
Refit by looping an old snapped 3 rib belt around spring & yanking through. Simple(s)Madmac

Thats the last time I transgressed or to be more truthful the last time I was caught out. 😳 .
Lets face it, i think all of us ‘slip’ over the speed limit practically every day, its all about being sensible though.. location, location as they say.
There was a story in our local rag this week about a young fella’s antics in our village high street a couple of months ago which had ended in court.Recorded at 66mph by an unmarked car, £800 fine, banned for 2 years & test re-sit at end.
I hope it sends a message to all the others who drive in a similar way. silly. 🙁March 18, 2010 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Dyson CR02 washing machine not draining – Dyson Virgin – #315498Madmac

Friggin NIGHTMARE to work on they are 👿 Ages since i did one but there is deeply recessed torx screws in door hinge to take out i think. If it has the pressure sw mounted on the facia, do remember to put the pipe on during rebuild.. i didnt 😳
Can you not squeeze the pump off by going in through the back? Common 3 screw Askoll if i remember rightly.God was i glad when my customers one blew its PCB & she ditched it & bought a Bosch.
